  1. I love the way everyone helps people with problems here! Great Forum!
  2. Thanks for the kind words everyone! Great forum here!
  3. Here's my output for the week - projects seem to get faster and faster! A couple easy "name puzzles" for the young kids and a tractor and cart in Ford Blue! And maybe a video of one of the puzzles being played with by by great-niece! T-Rex - 1.mov
  4. Love the window - makes it look so bright and inviting!
  5. I just ordered a package - Thanks!!
  6. I had been wanting to try an airplane so I found this pattern. Came out pretty good for the first one. Does anyone have a source for military roundel decals? I found some on E-bay but all are shipped from China. It'd be nice to find something a little closer to home.
  7. I just put that pattern in my workshop as a next-up project. Can't wait to get it started now. I bought some "Ford Blue" paint this afternoon.
  8. I really love the epoxy! Great job!
  9. Nice work!
  10. Another vote for the colored one!
  11. Welcome Tom from another retired newbie as well as another Michigander (A2). This is a great place with a lot of knowledgeable and friendly people. Nice work!
  12. Those are from 2x4s!
  13. It's been quiet around the house and got some time to finish a few more projects. A couple of "Magic Dinosaur Buddies", a mother and baby frog puzzle, a T-Rex puzzle, and a couple of compound cut band saw reindeer. The reindeer were both done with 2x4s - amazing woodgrain in both!
  14. Thanks guys!
  15. Been working slowly but steadily on my cutting skills. My new Delta came in and it makes a world of difference in both quality of cuts and quantity when the blades are pinless. Here are a couple new projects that I have been working The first photo show some Tiny cars and small animals. The second has a couple of cars that based on the Aeroflow designs of the 30s and 40's More to come..... and thanks for letting me show off my improving talents (I hope)
  16. Well, I spent more time down in my "shop" playing with my scroll saw and here's what I came up with - still trying to get the hang of this "hobby"! Hats off to everyone here - I've gained a lot of respect for the time and effort you put into your work! The first image is a train puzzle made from spalted ash. The second image is a puzzle of a mother hippo and her baby (I'm sure you've all seen this one all over the internet); the third one is a "batmobile" made from spalted ash and purple heart.
  17. Great work! I'm not sure how long it would take me to do something like that but I might be able to have something of much lower quality ready for Christmas 2022! Thanks for sharing this one!
  18. Really nice work! Thanks for sharing it!
  19. I like the tree. Maybe a gold or silver metal flake for the holiday season??
  20. Great looking snowman! I tried my first compound cut this afternoon - it was a crash and burn. Almost worked but not quite!
  21. I like the tree puzzle with the animals as the pieces - great looking work!
  22. I agree with Badgerboy - that second one in so beautiful!
  23. Been having a lot of fun with my scroll saw - here's most of the projects I've completed this week The first picture is of a pair of cute little animals - hedgehog and rhino; the second is a cutout ornament of my grandson's Bernese Mountain Dog, the third is a VW racer, and the last two are a "speed racer"! I was amazed at the woodgrain in this car. It was cut from a 2x4 - never knew they could have such great woodgrain patterns! Thanks for taking the time to look - as a beginner I can already see an improvement in my ability (as limited as it is )
  24. I received this email yesterday - maybe it will work for you! https://www.woodpeck.com/sapele-project-packs.html?trk_msg=14H0Q2P21E5418GHEMU5URE02S&trk_contact=RFJ6STQR8TGLM9BK98T7VHPCCS&trk_sid=P1H44OUPCNDRMCQ067UO5NLMVG&trk_link=K8090INOEHJ4N4UGM7NHME5BC0&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=Woodpeckers+Woodshop&utm_campaign=12.04.21+Wood
  25. Great thing to do - thank you! When I was subbing at the elementary school I worked with a number of "difficult" kids. I had a room where I brought several guitars and amps. When kids were good I would allow them to play the guitars and show them some basic chords. The look of achievement on their faces was well worth the effort. There were several little guys that really took to it. At the end of the year, after contacting their parents, I let them pick out a guitar and amp to keep - they were so happy! The next fall I ran into one of them and asked if he was still playing it. He told me that he was now writing his own music!! You can never tell when something you do with kids will change their (and your) life! Thanks again for taking time with the kids!
