  1. That is what I was thinking of...clear epoxy...not sure which brand would work...you would need to make sure it wouldn't leak out anywhere though...I love being able to see the pendulum on the inside. This project is so cool!
  2. Awww, thank you! I am so excited about scroll sawing...I sometimes wake up thinking about the next project and how I want it to work....
  3. I am sorry to hear about your toe. Wow, 1/2 marathon...good for you! I had a marathoning friend who had arthritis on both big toes. She had surgery on them and is back to running at 70+. I am at least able to walk pretty fast and cross country ski.
  4. Wow, 5 neck surgeries! Did you have car accidents? My brother is Terry Baker. I was at the end of the line of a long line of Bakers. He is quite a bit older than me
  5. Me too! I love ice tea. I like the taste of coffee but it doesn't like me...so tea it is
  6. Paul, I think the lie is pretty obvious!
  7. Barb, You are correct! I had hip surgery in November so running is out for me.... Have a wonderful day! mc
  8. So when I filled out my profile when I joined Scroll Saw Village I filled in the section titled "Two truths and a Lie" How does one find others "Two truths and a Lie"? Here are mine if someone wants to guess the lie: Two Truths & A Lie: I can run under a 7 minute mile My brother won the Heisman I was grand champion in the Montana State Fair for fine art Maybe others could post their Truths and lie since I don't know where to find them....mc
  9. Cute! I never thought of woodburning...great idea!
  10. Very lovely!..I am curious...why the Danish oil before the stain?
  11. Thank you so much....It will take me a lot of practice to do that one... I am such a rookie. I am pretty darn slow, but maybe if I start now I can get it done before her birthday in October! The eyes look really difficult...you really captured that. What was the thickness of the wood you used and the type of blade(s).... Thanks again I will download it...mc
  12. Wow, GQ certainly didn't think so:
  13. Wow! My daughter would love to see that. She loved Mr Tumnus. You did such a great job capturing him...so impressed!
  14. Thanks to everyone for your help on my lighting situation! So much information but it helped me make a decision. I went ahead and bought the Ottlite at JoAnn's it was on sale plus I have a 25% off coupon so it was $73 and I just picked it up. My oh my, that is sooo much better. However, I think I will need to hang some lights over head from some chains for my entire side of the orchard shop. I will need to wait until the snow melts to uncover our orchard Ladders because those rafters are way up there. I like the idea of the linkable lights because I have a long skinny side of the building for my workspace (kind of like a long hallway).... but I will also look into the Harbor Freight. I also will buy a sewing machine light because I think that will help just a bit more. Thanks again!
  15. Oh...Ha Ha! The shadows casted on the wall look really cool!
  16. Ron, that is so amazing! What did you use for the background? I really like it...and those eyes are awesome!

    Really pretty!
  18. Great idea about hanging them from a chain.....Plus, I did a google search about the harmful effects of Halogen lights and they emit UV rays so I could actually get sunburned...so that is out. I hope to go to HF tomorrow...if we don't get snowed in....Crazy March Thanks again! Marie
  19. I would love to have more light. The problem I have is the roof in 'my' shop is over 12 feet high. It is actually my husbands Orchard equipment building and I use a small piece of it (however I am slowly making gains in space, I don't think he has noticed...yet ) Anyway, I transgress...So the lights are way up there and my little lamp by my saw is casting shadows. You have given me an idea though...we have extra giant Hallogen lights we use in one of our Greenhouses (the whole thing weighs about 40 pounds), Perhaps I could hang one of those above me. The added benefit is they also give off quite a bit of heat so I would be warmer as well.... I think, though, I still could use a lighted magnifier.
  20. Jim that is good info to know. Do you have a recommendation for an LED that is not the cheaper ones. I was thinking of getting one with a magnifier and that had glass. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much.
  21. Thank you....I don't have a screen of any type. I just use my safety glasses when I scroll saw. But a magnifier with a light might make my cutting better...gotta blame my mistakes on something
  22. Paul, what brand is your LED one? I would like a bright one. Fluorescent lighting can give me a headache after a while. I am still trying to figure out how bright Denny's is....but no luck...I will keep looking online.
  23. Do you know how many lumins your LED one puts out? Is the flourescent one brighter? Thanks
  24. When I did a google search I found a bunch of different Ottlites...could you provide me a link or a picture of what yours is. Thank you!
