  2. Welcome Charlie.
  3. Nice cutting Kevin!
  4. Greetings from New York. We have answers to any questions.
  5. Nice work Kevin. Rolling right along and back in the swing fells nice huh.
  6. Great way to stop back in. Very well done. Tell Denny it's a self portrait.
  7. An all around great piece of work. Thank you for showing your beautiful Humming Bird.
  8. Looks tough to cut. I like the tail and feathers on the feet. Good job.
  9. Go to General Scrollsawing... Upper right, do a SEARCH for BLO All the information you want. BLO here at SSV is refering to a MIX of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. There are other mixes... The BLO search will provide all the information you want for "Finish for portraits"
  10. Great 'Show & Tell' Rob
  11. Dave, I like your question. BLO is a finish, you brush or pour it on. BLO gets into the crevises giving a more / better finish look. The spray lacquer puts a nice looking finish on but the spray does not get into the crevises very well. Without the BLO, some of the fretwork would look un-finished.
  12. LOL ... It just fit in with the type of fretwork scrolling I started lately. A few birds I'll show sometime. It's nice to stack and have the bottom as good as the top.... There's another I'm starting where the lady has an escort... I see the challenge... ... and want to see the the fretwork completed. and it will sell x4
  13. I cut four and I don't think anyone I know wants one...
  14. Very commendable. The holes are hard to do and have them uniform. You did excellent.
  15. Very nice cutting. It is so nice to get more than one from your cutting efforts.
  16. This is a Steve Good pattern. I stacked cut four using 1/4" Luan. I used more than one type blade but primarly a .026 x 0.11 #2?. The scroll is 8" x 6" and the backer is a light Walnut 10" x 8" Comments appreciated! Un-finished Finished with BLO & Lacquer The shaded area is the character of the wood.
  17. Maybe I'm blessed. Cutting word art easier than detailed fret work. Thank you.
  18. Did you count them?
  19. Very nice. The backing really enhances the scroll work.
  20. Just perfect. The backer makes a great contrast. A beautiful piece of work.
  21. Most likely a Spruce or Hemlock.
  22. If this link works... if not then search online for fonts for scrolling or fonts for word art scroll saw letters and numbers templates | Here's a font ...
  23. Wow Marg, yes the heart does look a bit fragile. You did a great job cutting this.
  24. Hard to add to what's been said. Job well done.
  25. Nicely done and welcome. My favorite wood for scrolling is that which has the live edge. There are many scrollers here who enjoy cutting Native Americans.
