Run it without cutting and see if the sound is odd. Actually have no idea except for what Dan suggested.

Yepper! If you can print it, you can transfer it. I have not tried photos, magazine or newspaper pictures but I bet you can do these also. Of course these would be mirror images unless you scanned and printed.

Could be a good one, I draw a blank on what to say.

They all are great, very good cutting on those.

Here is a method to put a pattern on wood and not use tape or glue. No fumes, no odor! This method is called ' IMAGE TRANSFER ' Here is how: Needs: Polymer Emulsion, a small 4 inch roller, 1/2 to 3/4 inch brush * Print a MIRROR IMAGE of your pattern. (see note 1 below) * Sand wood very smooth * Using brush, apply a light coat of polymer to first the pattern and then to the wood. * Place pattern on the wood and using the roller, roll the pattern smooth removing the excess polymer. *** You cannot roll too much. the more the better. * Let the pattern (polymer) dry. *** I use a heat gun or hair dryer to speed this up Use these on low or warm settings. * When dry, apply a liberal amount of water to soak the paper. Rubbing with your fingers, start to roll the paper off. Continue rolling the paper off. The water removes the paper, the ink stays. There is your pattern. My example here took about 20 minutes to transfer this picture. Not bad since it takes near that time to apply a pattern with tape and glue. 1 ** Any words,profiles, etc must be printed mirror image so it shows on the wood corectly. Here is the picture I will transfer to wood ** I did NOT do mirror image. *** This is just a picture and not a pattern *** I applied polymer and dried it. Starting to remove paper. Now most of the paper is removed and if this were a pattern... you are read to drill holes. **** You can do this with color also

Glue sticks, they work well with small patterns. Takes a little time to use them with large patterns. Other than spray glue, that's all I can think of.

I like how you puzzled the wolf in the frame of the wood. It looks good. To me, the eyes are a little out of context with the rest of the wolf.

Mark, Glad to have you here. Sounds like you are an accomplished scroller. We like 'PICTURES'. Show us some of your work. I don't use spirals. As for breaking blades, I would guess you are pushing too hard.

Wow quite a project and you are doing beautifully. Likes....Travis explained it way back about 90something posts ago. And at that time he upped the quota. May be a post somewhere about scroll files, I know nothing about them. And last thing, Hans, does this sort of cutting all the time, bet he will like it. Also I bet he would comment on the sanding....

An artist is never satisfied. Your cut looks good to me but I think you should cut another just so you can feel better.

Clamps----use what you have, change if they don't work out. Zero clearance----I want to hear someone epoxied the blade hole over and then drilled zero clearance hole. Best blade for thick stock------Top of every page is a search column. Most topics (This one) has been discussed a number of times. Try a search for more answers. A # 5 blade and up.....
