  1. Hey all. I put this portrait pattern together and left it sat on ply for weeks. I haven't really had time to cut it recently, so yesterday afternoon I made a point of working on it and was done in less than an hour. I wasn't too sure about the image until after putting a backer on it and stepping away. I've quite a few more on the list to do, but I think that I captured 'Mozza' pretty good. Hope you like it, Kindest Regards, Nick. (p.s - hope Grampa Paul's ok)
  2. All of my work goes out branded. I have a 'Peter Child' pyrography machine and I use a simple symbol on everything. I'm not really interested in adding my name, so I just brand as shown in the photo below. For anyone unsure, it is the fundamental symbol of Jainism and is thousands of years old. It represents 'Total Non-Violence' to everything living and means a great deal to me. Regards, Nick.
  3. Your pattern making is starting to look good, Gator. All I'd say is just play around with the image and go to a level of detail that your comfortable with. With a good, clean photo you can sometimes get amazing lines, without so many cuts - (I'm thinking of the hair and beard). I'm no pro, but if I can help you any more, just let me know. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  4. An absolute pleasure Marg. Your cutting has really brought them to life. Any other help...just give me a shout. (Nice comments from everyone else - great work again, Don.) Kindest Regards, Nick.
  5. Absolutely tragic Marg...I make a point of steering clear of any form of news media, but saw this by accident today. Made me feel ill. It has just reinforced my opinion of how bad the world is, and why I avoid the news. It's not ignorance on my part - I'm just overwhelmed with sadness everytime I see something as wrong as this. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  6. Oh...that's fine. I'll hang on to see if Mahendra turns up - I'm pretty sure that he's familiar with the milky sweet taste of traditional chai. Thanks anyway. Regards, Nick.
  7. Whoaaa there...slow down with the cream bun fella (we like Roly, NOT Roly Poly!) LOL
  8. Indian Chai for me please Larry. (1 sugar and cardamon soy milk if you will). It'll go down great this morning. Many thanks.
  9. Hope you're keeping safe Marg. Pyrography is the only acceptable form of wood burning. Think of all the waste - and lives put at risk. There are some really brave people out there. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  10. Hey Julie. Welcome to the village. If you have any pattern requests, just give me a shout. Is that Bolton Lancs UK you're in? If so, I'm just over the other side (Bridlington - East Yorks) just south of Scarborough. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  11. De-caf for me thanks, Edward. (Bacons out - I'm vegan). We've been looking on in horror over the past few months. Being on the East Coast, we've hardly seen a frost let alone flooding (or snow further North). We seem to have missed Winter all together, which is unusual for us. I'm sure that the good old government and the Environment Agency will help (when hell freezes over...which is possible if left to them). I really hope things come good for all in our South West.
  12. Awww, Kev...you missed out the details (Freezer brand name / green lipped mussels or not etc) LOL
  13. Once again..."Clayton To The Rescue". Rapid help response, as always.
  14. Anytime Doc...you know we're all here.
  15. Congrats Roly...betya feeling your age now, eh?
  16. De-caf with soya milk please Sul. (Religious reasons). I know what you mean...I work from home, but Fridays always seem a little different for some reason.
  17. Never an easy time. I (and I'm sure many others here), will be thinking good thoughts for you Doc.
  18. No problem. If you need any others just say...I've got quite a collection. I use a lot - it keeps things fresh.
  19. You'll be extremely lucky to find this one for free...it's copyrighted and usually costs between £20 - £30 if I remember rightly. Regards, Nick.
  20. Hi. Hope this helps. It still needs a little work around the jawline - but I've removed the fold mark from the middle. If I can be of any further assistance, please give me a shout. We'd all really appreciate it if you'd be kind enough to post a picture of the finished cut - of whichever pattern you choose. (I'm sure you'll get a few more). Kindest Regards, Nick.
  21. I'm on it...give me a few minutes. Nick.
  22. Hope the latest CT is fine, Sul.
  23. Thanks for the feedback everyone. It's always useful to hear what you all think. I'll post more when time allows.
  24. Nice work Keefie. I haven't tried cutting a jigsaw as yet, but if my 1st attempt is as good as yours...I'll be very happy. I'm sure they'll love it.
  25. Wow Roly...and this is your 1st basket? Very impressive. Looks like you were meant to make more if this is your initial attempt. Keep em coming.
