  1. Some pieces really do have that special feel to them - I can see why you love this. It's excellent. Regards, Nick.
  2. "All Together Now.....Aaaaahhhhhhh" - (The nice one Roly - not the shouty scream type of aahhh LOL)
  3. Thanks Roy. The Grand Union is a stunning stretch. We're over the eastern coast end of the Leeds & Liverpool canal and I used to spend my school summer holidays helping our local lock keeper at Thorne, (near Doncaster) You're right - you probably have seen him - he is in some of the photo's and a few interviews and video clips on YouTube. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  4. Thanks Everyone - It's great to get the experienced opinions of our talented villagers. As mentioned, I have 3 other patterns ready to go but need to move things around a little in the work area (Looks like the EX-30 may be making an appearance in the next few weeks) and I have the Craft Fairs coming up. I'll keep you informed and updated. Thanks again. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  5. I can't imagine how you must feel Dick - I have 3 sons between 6 - 14yrs and really can't comprehend what It'd be like to lose any of them. I'm so sorry. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  6. Hey John. So sorry to hear about John Jr. I can't imagine how much of an impact that must be. You're so right about the Excalibur - real quality. I'll take his opportunity to welcome you (before all the others LOL.) Please make yourself at home - have a stroll around the village and I'm sure you'll bump into quite a few (interesting) and friendly characters...but steer clear of Roly and Rob Roy LOL! If you have any questions, just ask any of us. Kindest Regards, Nick. (East Cosst UK)
  7. 'Quick Mount' every time. Easy peel and re-positionable - especially when used on blue painters / masking tape. (Don't know if it's just a UK item - widely used on the art scene over here.)
  8. Hey Gator...I don't really drink, but if your ever short of work - I know of a few nightclubs over here that could use you on their door LOL (Cool hat).
  9. Hahahah! Looks like an escaped ROLY, to me LOL
  10. "Happy Birthday Bob" - have a great day.
  11. Hi everyone - hope you're all keeping well. Busy as usual...don't know if anyone remembers me mentioning that I was working on a new idea a month or so ago? Well I've just completed my first two pieces and have patterns for another three ready. Here in the UK, we have an amazing canal network dating back hundreds of years. When our children are older, we will be buying a narrowboat, and travelling the network and selling my work. The traditional folk art associated with the working narrowboats is known as 'Roses & Castles'. This art is generally painted in oils, and sadly seems to be dying out as the years pass. (Examples can be seen here: http://www.blisworth.org.uk/images/Miscellaneous/decorations.htm ) I have developed a style of my own which I hope will be consistant with the traditional form. I have decided that segmentation is the way forward for me, and used the same oils to paint. I still need to practice some of the border techniques, which is why they're not added to my work as yet. Thanks for listening, and I'll post more when possible. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  12. Just 'Liked' all of the above - Although I'm still working on my page as well as the website. Many thanks to all who 'Like' and if I miss anyone - just give me a shove and I'll head over to your page. Nick. 13. Nice work, boys. You've dropped lucky and got two of the best here Rod.
  14. We'll keep the fire burning in the village square, Sul.
  15. Here's a bit of a curve-ball...I grew up in the late 70's / early 80's and my US memories are Ritchie Rich comics, Sea Monkies, Charlie Brown & Snoopy, and of course Sesame Street. (It's nice to think of the hot street summers where all the kids of all races danced around in the fire hydrants and got on together)
  16. Nice work Roly...she's going to love it.
  17. Oh no Roy...what're we supposed to do now? It seems Roly's on day release again! I'm sure they'll come looking for him when his meds are due. "YA BETTER GET RUNNING ROLY" LOL
  18. I know where you're coming from Roly - but it really suits me fine. Most people seem to think that I shirk the responsibility, but truthfully I lost the lure of money when I hit 35. It seems to be all people live for these days. Such a shame really.
  19. I hope all's good, Sul.
  20. It's easy when you know how...my wife is 33 years old and is extremely intelligent. Having said that...she knows nothing of Scroll Saw Terminology! "Oh, I've just got to tighten the blade clamps" (3 hours) - "I'll be in soon...I'm just adjusting the blower hose" (2 hours) LOL...she hasn't got a clue! - PLEASE tell me I'm not alone.
  21. Love it...particularly NOT charging for the work - such a cool surprise for friends. I'm sure they'll be blown away - and rightly so. Nice work, and even nicer sentiment.
  22. Great concept Marg...yours or otherwise. Funny how how you miss the regulars really, don't you think?
  23. Take it easy there Roly...you got a friend in me (but please be aware - I have no money! My wife deals with everything to do with the filthy stuff...but I'm always a 'Favour Raver'). LOL
  24. Always the same with insurance, Roly - they NEVER have a problem when they're taking your money!
  25. Great work Dan. Sorry I can't comment much more - I'm suffering from "White Oak Envy". Apparently, it's quite widespread here in the UK!
