  1. Hey All! I just thought I'd stick my head around the door and say 'Hi'. Lot's happening as usual - but I have been dropping by regularly just to keep up with the 'In Crowd' I'm currently doing the usual (working on about 8 projects - I'm really NOT joking) - but I've just finished some really cool plaques. They are Sheila's and can be found here http://www.sheilalandrydesigns.com/product/SLDK338 I really enoyed cutting these, and will be doing more (Sheila has various other sets) - I decided to use thick backers on thin ply (I have a huge woodpile of pallets that are perfect backers!) Adding different stains can create amazing contrasting results. I will be posting the whole process on the blog, as soon as I get a spare hour. Thanks for reading, and I hope you're all keeping well. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  2. LOL...He'll probably replace England's 11. I don't take any notice - it's just what I've heard. It seems that the World Cup is just the same as every other major sporting event...thise that don't follow - suddenly become obsessed experts (I dissapear to the shed with The Archers Omnibus) Good to hear from you (great photo) Kindest Regards, Nick.
  3. Very tacktful Roly...Love it LOL
  4. Sorry Dan...a bit late for breakfast (even though ours was probably 5 hrs earlier than yours LOL) Busy day as usual, so only just checked in. Congratulations on your Wedding Anniversary. For the 'Bad times vs good'.... I was always told a 60/40 split is what you should expect - we always find that most problems are involving others, the kids or things beyond our control. If that's it - you've graduated. In the UK, marriage seems to be too much commitment for most (although they still have children!!!) Anyway - have a great anniversary, and feel proud. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  5. Another fine rescue job, Kevin - (but I see your still fighting with the 'CAPS LOCK' again. LOL
  6. Just take things nice and slow, Jerry....there's always one of us on here if you feel like posting a progress update - keep things easy, and you'll be sawing again before you know it. Kindest Regards, Nick.
  7. Roy...are you ok, pal?
  8. Have a great day, Don.
  9. I promise I'm not being lazy, but....I posted my shop pics this morning. http://tinkers-cove.blogspot.com Your all welcome to subscribe if you wish. Kindest Regards & thanks for looking, Nick.
  10. BRIDlington Kevin...you nearly got it right LOL - hope you're keeping well.
  11. Great work Kevin - (As usual).
  12. Hi Rob. The 1st image is a little difficult to work with (it is really dark around her hair - which makes the pattern very short of detail). However I've taken the 2nd image to the level I'd start with. Hope this helps - any other questions, give me a shout. Kindest Regards, Nick. (The second post has just been added to my blog http://tinkers-cove.blogspot.com )
  13. Thanks Roly. The pre-installed software on the sites is very good, but getting the look that you want is sometimes problematic. Content is building up, but everytime I start photographing the step-by-steps - I get carried away and carry on working without taking photo's! Thanks for looking, Kind Regards, Nick.
  14. Thank you everyone. - there's lot's more to come yet. I'll be posting quite a bit to the blog in the coming months...you've all got 1st class seats (as we already know each other) LOL
  15. Hi. Hope this is of some use to you. I usually take it to this level of detail, then take a silver sharpie & black fine-liner to it. Use the sharpie to edit lines (areas of wood to keep) and use the fine-liner to re-enforce your cutting lines. Kyle's shirt is very light in colour, but you can see the crease marks (this is where you can add detail with the fine-liner). The benefit of working at this level of detail, is you can use as much (or little) as you can manage - you may need to edit with the pens until you're at a level that you feel comfortable with. Give me a shout if you need anything else. Kindest Regards, Nick. p.s (New Blog Update Coming Soon) http://www.tinkers-cove.blogspot.com
  16. Great cut, Gator. Real nice finish to a stunning plaque.
  17. Hahaha! I know exactly where you're coming from Travis. I'd add my list, but I fear for the skin on my thumbs (iPhone text)! Plus I'm not sure how much space your hosting company allocate for you LOL
  18. Yeah...still busy. Trying to build up the social networks and blog at the moment (it's a nightmare!) Hoping to get some cutting done this weekend - the canal work is a bit more time consuming, but I'll be working on something in the near future no doubt. Keep yourself & the family well, Nick.
  19. HELLO HELLO? Did somebody shout for the idiot? (Oh, and welcome to the village - make yourself at home - we've got all sorts in here!) "Hi Roly & Rob" LOL
  20. Oh Marg...Chai please. I'll pass on the tucker, (I didn't see any 'Dingo Dumpings' in the menu) :( LOL
  21. Oh Man! We're not heading toward the classic combo of 'Custard Creams & Bisto' again are we!
  22. Oi Rob! Did you say Chai? (He says, fastening the trainers whilst running and looking at a map of the borders!) - hang on, keep it boiling LOL
  23. Great work Don. (Jumped to the rescue again eh, Travis?)
  24. Great work Gator...glad you're still kickin' (and clearly scrollin'). We'll cut piece for a well deserving person.
  25. Hey all....Back again. Still busy cutting every day (except today) LOTS of online stuff to do (FBook, Twitter etc). I'm trying to add as much content as possible, but html editing for websites & blogs is a bit of a minefield! Anyway, I recently finished Sue Meys "Woodland Scene". I really enjoyed it, and if anyone wants to see it from start-to-finish, it's the 1st entry in the new blog. http://www.tinkers-cove.blogspot.co.uk/ I'd be very grateful if you'd head over and post the odd comment or 2 (maybe follow if you want to see more - there's lots happening in the coming year). Much appreciated, and keep scrollin'. Kindest Regards, Nick.
