I don’t remember who did this here on SSV awhile ago. I found it again and did the pattern from a picture. The initials are both my wife and I. I used some bass wood my brother gave me. It’s really soft wood and doesn’t take much of the finish. I used 321. BLO semi gloss poly and mineral spirits. Thanks for looking.
  3. Great work!

  16. I haven’t used it yet but have gotten their belts for my sander. They’re as good as any others and not as expensive.
  17. Perfect! Beautiful wood

  20. Maple is really hard? This is very soft. The others are walnut and chestnut.
  21. I always wanted to try one of these. I always bend my keys. I found the pattern and tried a few, but I’ve found it’s way to wide to keep in your pocket. my brother gave me the spalted wood but I’m not sure what kind it is. It’s a very soft wood. The recipe holder is a Steve good pattern and I used cherry. I used semi gloss poly for all the finish. Im not sure what I’m gonna do with it either it’s to big for the space we have on the counter. Thanks for looking.
  22. Fantastic work!!
  23. I use both. It depends on what I'm cutting, mainly a cut in rivers etc. or one I can mess up and you'd not be able to tell. Otherwise the rest is done with flat blades for letters etc. I have used spiral on letters in a piece that is way to big to turn on the saw. You just have to make sure and stand back far enough to not really see how crooked the cut is. Like on the other side of the room.
  24. They all came out perfect! Thanks for sharing.
  25. Great work!
