I use painters tape on solid wood, on top only and glue pattern to the tape so there is no residue. On BBP I glue the pattern to the wood. I have tried painters tape on BB, but when I take the tape off it always pulls chuncks of wood off with it. I use clear packing tape only when stack cutting.

I use painters tape on the top. I wrap the edges over if I am stack cutting to hold the pieces together (unless I need more support and use another method) Then I use a regular craft glue stick to stick the paper pattern to the painters tape and cover with a layer of packing tape.

If cutting baltic birch plywood   I use blue tape top and bottom, 3M spray pattern on , and then clear tape over pattern on top.

Might seem like a little over kill, however when finished cutting, peel tape , pattern off alltogether.  Really helps with the lubercating

of reverse blades, and cuts down trementiously on sanding.  Nice clean cuts top and bottom.

Works for me
