GrampaJim Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Not Scrolling, work. After 50 years in the paid work force and another 10 years as a kid on the farm, I am officially retired as of today. Good day for it since it is a cold rain and sleet coming down here today. Started as a stock boy in a department store toy department and ended as a production manager for an electronic contract manufacturer. Now my goals are to finish wearing out my Dewalt 788 type I and sell enough stuff to keep me in wood and blades. They say never retire from something, retire to something. For me that is scrolling. bandaideman Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Congratulations and enjoy. I did the same August 1. Summer was yard work, garden, fixing things and scrolling all done if I wanted to and when I wanted to do it. I kept busy I think I lost weight with the added exercise and decreased stress eating. Retirement is well worth it. now if I can do what my dad has done he has been retired longer than he worked for the company. He is almost 94 and is living alone, drives and enjoys doing what he can by him self which is about every thing. Quote

Kepy Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 Congratulations but be warned that you may wind up busier than before. I don't know how I ever managed to work and do all the other things I do unless its maybe that I move at a slower pace. Nap breaks also interfere with getting things accomplished. Quote
