Popular Post Denny Knappen
The pattern for this is by Judy & Dave Peterson and found in SWWC Spring 2017 #66. I used solid 7/8" Cherry approximately 6" x 7 1/2". I used FD Polar #7 blades and two coats of 50% BLO. A fun puzzle to make, but I had to check the blade after each cut to be sure it was square to the table. Comments welcome. heppnerguy
The animal puzzles seem to be all the rage right now. I guess I will just have to give one a go, real soon so I won't feel left out. I like the way this one hangs it's head over the edge. Lucky2
Denny, what was causing the issues with your saw blades? Why did you have to check out the blade for being plum after each cut, that would be a real PITA wouldn't it? Len

Denny Knappen
Denny, what was causing the issues with your saw blades? Why did you have to check out the blade for being plum after each cut, that would be a real PITA wouldn't it? Len Thanks Len. It is not a problem with the blades. With 7/8" thick wood, any little out of square would be a major problem. I wanted to be sure the blade and table were square.

That pattern has been glued to wood and at my feet for a week and still haven't cut it.Looks like i should have used hard wood.
Denny Knappen
Kevin, hard wood really makes it pop.
hawkeye10
I like it Denny. Just a few minutes ago I was looking at a Judy Peterson book that had a lot of dragons in it. Woodcraft has Padauk on sale so I ordered some. I think it will make some good looking dragon puzzles.
