When I built the stand for my EX21, I hinged the top at the front of the stand. That allows me to lift the rear of the top to tilt the saw toward me.  I haven't measured the angle but my stand is 24" front to back and I have a 2x4 on edge under the rear of the saw table. I would guess about 25-30 degrees.

I'm the odd duck here. My Delta P-20 on it's stand had a tilt toward the front. Didn't like it. Moved it to my bench I built, it's higher than the average bench, the top is 39". The saw sits on top of that and I stand to cut, the saw is level. I can lean over to see straight down if needed or from the front to line the blade with the cut line when needed. I do have a stool that keeps me at the same height if needed. But most all my cutting is from a standing position.  It just works better for me.

I guess I must be too lazy. I have bad feet and I like to sit as much as possible. If I stand for too long, the neuroma in my right foot makes my toes feel like they are on fire. I'm thinking about surgery this year to correct it.

My feet are terribly irritated due to diabetic neuropathy. Exactly what type of surgery are you thinking about? Surely nothing so radical as foot removal. 🙄

Just one Les. Lol. No, there is a procedure that cuts the nerve that is affected by the neuroma. Two toes will basically be numb all the time instead of burning.

I love the tilt on my DeWalt. I set the tilt 10" in the back from level. No more neck and back problems for years and years.

I started scrolling about 4 1/2 years ago and found this blog just as I got my DW788.: Kevin, you advised me to tilt it, and also were very, very encouraging to me in my beginning efforts. I have always appreciated your kindness.

You are the best and you made my whole year appreciating something I did from my heart. Your a gem and a rare ity in my book . Thank you so much old Joe and keep coming back and maybe you will want to be a regular here. Everybody's opinion counts!!!

I have four scroll saws and all are now  level.  I tried tilting one but did not see an advantage to that for me.  I have two of them on 12" tall wooden bases I made for them.  With those two I can sit down and have my hands and arms in a more comfortable position while cutting.  Easier on my shoulders.
