This will definitely be a way to get to know it!  Looking good from here, at least.  Keep this one around as a reminder of where you started out, and you'll be amazed at the progress you make.

That is a looking very fine so far.  

Blade tension & lubrication are also important too.   The instruction book with my 1st scrollsaw stated to use beeswax as a blade lubricant. I have used candle stubs as lube ever since, although none are beeswax any more.  A scrollsaw  vendor   (http://pozsgaidesigns.com/)   told me about the trick of putiing clear tape over the work. it also makes the saw cut better.

First there were the ninja turtles now there is angry turtle 😂 nice job on the cutting, best way into scrollsaw is jump right in, what's the worst that can happen? you end up with nice fluffy saw dust 😂 I don't lube my blades I tape everything top and bottom, you pick up loads of tips cos we have all made so many mistakes but ur deff on the right path, is you need any patterns or help with a drawing give me a shout anytime
