Popular Post Scrappile Posted December 6, 2020 Popular Post Report Posted December 6, 2020 I just did something BAD! SO BAD! SO VERY, VERY BAD!! I just ordered a new planer.... I have a Delta, have had it for years and it has served me well... I have put a lot of boards through it, especially when I was build my little unfinished sailboat and the kayak I built... Lately I have had a little trouble with it, feeding boards. I took it all apart clean everything up good put it back together, but just haven't been able to get it adjusted so it is working as I would like... I ran across a sale on a DW734 a week ago,,,, and on a whim, put it in my cart.... But did not check out... this morning I was kinda looking around again, and what,,, the sale is over.... but the one I added to my cart was still there, at the sell price...Must be an omen... right?? so after a lot of thought,,,, maybe 30 seconds worth,,, I went to check out. Still the sale price showed up soooo... CLICK!! I had it shipped to my brother's house,,,, and I will pick it up when it comes, and sneak it into my work shop.... My wife will never notice that that old gray and black machine just turned bright yellow and silver....!!! Well maybe she won't notice.... if she does,,, well fairwell!!!! barb.j.enders, Loskoppie, GPscroller and 10 others 1 1 11 Quote

Dan Posted December 6, 2020 Report Posted December 6, 2020 Just tell her you cleaned all the dust from the Delta after years of use and it now looks brand new. Just think, all these years and you thought it was a Delta to find out it's a Dewalt. Anyway, congrats on the new planer. I'm thinking about a new one too. If you survive I may be temped to do the same. John B, Scrappile, meflick and 1 other 4 Quote

I keep preaching to her about it,,, need to be aware of what is going on around you..!! she won't notice.... well this of coarse will be the only time she will notice something... bandaideman Posted December 7, 2020 Report Posted December 7, 2020 I will pray she doesn't notice but if so then hope she does not put you through it first before your not around happens Scrappile 1 Quote
Heli_av8tor Posted December 7, 2020 Report Posted December 7, 2020 My DW is a quilter too. Add to that is her embroidery machines. If I notice something new and mention it her standard answer is “oh, I had that”. So I asked her last week just how long she’s owned something to qualify for that statement. I started at months and worked down to minutes before she through me out of her sewing room. Scrappile and dgman 1 1 Quote

ChelCass Posted December 7, 2020 Report Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) Shame on you guys! Sneaking around.........LOL..............my hubby knows I am a very observant person, he on the other hand it not! He doesn't really have to worry as 98% of the tools he has I bought him either for Christmas or his Birthday. I just happen to be a woman who loves tools. I could wander around Menards, Lowes etc all day long. Lucky guy is getting a flux welder and a new bench grinder with light attachment for Christmas. He already got his *big* this year. It was too big for me to carry. Edited December 7, 2020 by ChelCass meflick 1 Quote
