Popular Post Jim McDonald Posted April 8, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 8, 2024 Didn't have time to do much metering, just pray the exposure was close enough. Minor solar flares from about 75 to 180 degrees. This was just as totality was ending. danny, Charlie E, jollyred and 7 others 7 3 Quote
preprius Posted April 8, 2024 Report Posted April 8, 2024 (edited) Yea, you got to experience it. No clouds. Very nice. Is the green light from a reflection in the equipment? In California I had a partial eclipse. My pic has solar filter on a telescope. So orange ball is what the filter allows to pass. Manually holding cell phone to a telescope lens is hard. So the cell phone was not perfectly focused. There is side by side pair of sun spots almost in center. Edited April 8, 2024 by preprius jollyred, OCtoolguy, danny and 3 others 5 1 Quote

The green flare only showed up on one camera/lens combo so I am assuming it is something equipment related. danny 1 Quote
barb.j.enders Posted April 9, 2024 Report Posted April 9, 2024 Great pictures. We were cloudy here so it wasn't really visible. Quote
TAIrving Posted April 9, 2024 Report Posted April 9, 2024 We were in the 96% zone, had hopes for a good show. At the time of the eclipse, we had a thunderstorm and were under a tornado watch. Disappointment! Quote
Bill WIlson Posted April 9, 2024 Report Posted April 9, 2024 We were at 97+% totality here. We had a pretty good view. Clouds thinned just enough and just in time to see the whole thing. Interstate 79 runs North to south and is just a few miles west of here, very close and leading to the zone of totality. The local news showed chopper footage of bumper to bumper traffic for miles outside of Pittsburgh, heading north. My oldest daughter and her family intended to head that way, but turned around when they saw how much traffic was on the interstate. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
