Popular Post don in brooklin on Posted March 26, 2025 Popular Post Report Posted March 26, 2025 For all you Gnome-holics out there. This is a little different in that it has arms compound cut. I modified one of Diana Thompsons patterns of a Dragon. Also, the person who requested this wanted 2 signs so the sign is held on by earth magnets and can be changed easily. PS: Please no political comments as I have enough of those on Facebook to sink a ship. ChelCass, red river, MarieC and 13 others 14 2 Quote

barb.j.enders Posted March 27, 2025 Report Posted March 27, 2025 Looks great @don in brooklin on. This was my take on Elbows Up. I did take two and turn them into earrings that I wear when I go out. Jim McDonald, Wilson142, Mike Crosa and 3 others 4 2 Quote

Scrappile Posted March 27, 2025 Report Posted March 27, 2025 Very cute little fellow. I did not know the "Elbows UP" thing; I had to look it up. Did not surprise me to see it was related to Hockey. barb.j.enders 1 Quote

Not sure why they came out as small as they did. They are 3.5" long x 1/2" wide. Used 1/4" poplar. You don't have to steal it.... I give you permission Jim McDonald 1 Quote

If all the way to the left the key chain come out at about 3/8 high. I usually have at 100-105 and the key chain is 7/8 high which is the size of the precut wood I use for key chains. I like the idea of the small ones and going to cut a couple that way (Heart and Canada). Thanks for the idea. barb.j.enders 1 Quote
heppnerguy Posted April 5, 2025 Report Posted April 5, 2025 I am not a big gnome enthusiast but they are really cute little critters. I like how these came out and I always enjoy items that people create themselves too, as it is fun to see how new ideas come from peoples minds. I have a question for you. How did you make the part in the mustache that appears to be 'standing out'? Dick heppnerguy Quote
don in brooklin on Posted April 5, 2025 Author Report Posted April 5, 2025 When I do the beard on gnomes I use to use snowdrift paint. It works well but now I mix a little bit of drywall compound with white acrylic paint. I apply and streak with a small dowel or toothpick. Depending how looks I paint with white only . Quote
