I’ve written a cozy mystery series centered around a makerspace and the people who use it. Scrollsaw work, intarsia, and the quiet rhythm of the shop play a real role in the books. The craft isn’t background flavor — it shapes how the characters think, observe, and solve problems. This grew out of a genuine love of woodworking and maker communities, and an interest in showing those spaces with accuracy and respect. I relate to your characters in many ways: hobbiest woodworker, retired PhD with a food allergy and drive a Subaru Outback.
