Very nicely done, did you customize it to be for Valentine’s Day because I couldn’t find it on Steve’s site, RJ

Search "valentine" in his catalog, I found it on page 4

Very nice Marie.  For me the most satisfying part of using the scroll saw is you can go from a piece of wood to a finished product in a relatively short amount of time as compared to other wood projects.

Thanks Jerry,  Yes, I timed myself on this one to see how long it would take me.  It was really pretty quick.   Unlike carving a carousel horse (which I am doing right now) will take me months to complete 🙄

Nice work.  I think I did that one for Patti a couple years ago.

Thanks Paul, This is the valentine I think I will try for my intro to scroll sawing class.  I e-mailed Steve regarding permission to use it in the class but haven't heard from him.  Do you have any ideas how to reach out to him?  I used the e-mail [email protected]

Steve, as of yesterday is on the hospital.  But I do not think he would mind, You are not selling them and you are introducing new scrollers to his site.

Health Update.

Guys I have had a setback. I am back in the hospital. I have pneumonia that they are treating. I have also had a heart attack. They will do a hearth cath tomorrow. Obviously I am expecting a longer recovery with these complications. Hopefully I’ll get back on my feet at some point.

I too use some of Steve Good's patterns from time to time and I am always amazed how he can come up with so many ideas for patterns, consistently. When I sell of couple of projects from his patterns, I send him a donation, as i am making money off his patterns so it feels like the right thing to do. Sad to hear what he is going through right now. He is probably one of the biggest helps in the scroll saw field there is. I sure hope he comes through this health problem. It sounds very serious.

I was surprised when I opened your project, expecting some highly detailed piece and finding this cute little easy pattern from you. It is nice to know that even you sometimes take a break and do one just for a quick and relaxing time for yourself.

It was such a fun little project to do in 2 hrs (3 hrs with paint, finish and glue up).  I timed it and used it in my intro to scroll saw class with out the letters.  The students just loved it.  One of them was going to go home and paint the sign with chalk board paint so they could write on it different things.  The rest I gave wood letters I got from a hobby store so they could paint them and glue up their project at home.  I took them about 3 - 3.5 hrs to cut it out.  But they all really enjoyed the entire experience.

Marie,  Steve has said his patterns are free to use just don't sell them.  Give him the credit for designing it.

So nice of you to give your time to others so that they may have a start on a new hobby of their own.
