Popular Post wombatie Posted May 8 Popular Post Report Posted May 8 This is the first cutting I have done this year and now I have pulled/damaged my femoral nerve so sitting on a hard chair for too long is out of the question. Never mind I am managing 1/2 an hour a day so that is one good thing. Back to the horse.......The pattern is by Charles Hand. The horse is cut from 3/4 inch pine and the base is unknown wood. It was actually easier than it looks to cut. Really happy with it. Marg jerry walters, Old Joe, Scrolling Steve and 17 others 15 5 Quote
barb.j.enders Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 Well done Marg. Did you do that with spirals or flat? Sorry about your injury. Hopefully it heals quickly. wombatie 1 Quote

Fab4 Posted May 8 Report Posted May 8 Hi Marg: Get well soon, brings a whole new meaning to "one hole at a time" I know if I were to try this I would have pain in a different area. Mainly my seating area(if you know what I mean) P.I.T.A.....NOT THE EATING KIND BUT: no pun intended here Once complete, it would almost be worth it You did one heck of a job on this one Well done is an understatement Hang in there they say the Golden Years are not too far away....rrrrrrrrrrrrrr-ight!!! Charlie E Posted May 20 Report Posted May 20 Great work on a very intricate pattern! I hate spirals too. I know they have their place and I have some but I rarely use one. Most of my patterns have sharp inside corners and those two don't get along well. So sorry about your pain. My wife and I can sympathize. wombatie 1 Quote
Old Joe Posted May 21 Report Posted May 21 Funny, I use spirals as often as possible. There is nothing that advanced my scrolling more than learning to use and to have confidence in spirals. wombatie 1 Quote
Wichman Posted May 24 Report Posted May 24 About that Femoral nerve, I've had issues for years with leg pain and pinch points. One solution, among several, is to use a chair with a "tractor" seat. The seat is shaped for comfort, and if it works for seating on a tractor being bounced up and down for hours it's worth a try. These can be found on Amazon so you may be able to find them locally or have them shipped. I limit my time in the seat to 1/2hr at a time anyway, then get up and move around for a few minutes, then continue. Chair pads just don't cut it for some reason, but the tractor seat, oh yeah. Quote

I will give it a go. I will search Amazon. Thank you for that. It's feeling a lot better but I still have some discomfort. I am only working on things that I want to do for myself at the moment so it doesn't matter how long I take. Marg Quote
