I started with a 2/0 spiral, made one cut and went back to the normal FD 3r blade. Just slowed the speed down a bit. I still hate using spirals. I get a much cleaner cut without them.
Here is the first of three John Wayne pictures I am doing to enter into our county fair. I will post them as I get them done. Once I have all three completed I plan on making 1 large frame to hold all three. They are all cut from 1/8" Baltic birch. this one was cut with a FD 3R blade. The pattern is by Charles Dearing.(as well as the two others). The cutting size is 10 x 13. I still need to spray a coat of finish on it.
I have been ordering FD blades from the wooden teddy bear for several years and have never had any problems with their blades. once in a great while I would find a blade that didn't seem to cut like the one I just replaced. I will continue to buy from them.
