  1. Another winner Dick, I imagine there was a few hold your breath moments when cutting the fine line legs. Len
  2. Dan, both ways look good, but, IMO the painted ones look a whole lot better . What I like better about the painted ones, is that there is no mistaking what they are. You don't have to take a second look, the color lets you know automatically what you're looking at. Take a look at the unpainted one of the ghost, it takes a second to realize what it depicts, it did for me anyway. Where with the painted one, there's no mistaking what it depicts. Do you have any lights on the insides of the boxes? Len
  3. Frank, I'm sad to read of your issues, I to have serious back problems. Actually, I'm disabled due to back issues, and I found I had the same problem as you're experiencing. What I found that helped me, was raising my saw. I always used to sit-up at my saw when using it, that didn't bother me to awful much, but, changing the blade was definitely an issue. I suffered through this for a long time, then one of my buddies suggested that I raise my saw up higher then it was. I raised my saw up about 6", and I lowered my chair by about 2". This made it so that I wasn't looking straight down on the saw as I was cutting, and it made blade changes easier. It made the blade changes easier, because, by having the blade holders at the higher level I didn't have to bend over as far or twist my neck as much to see what I was doing. Maybe trying this suggestion, might help you with your problem. Hopefully it does, as it's not pleasant having back issues. Take care buddy. Len
  4. I agree, dull drill bit, and slow speed is more than likely your problem. When you drill the hole, do you just drill the hole, or, do you pump the drill bit up and down a couple of times to clean the hole out? Len
  5. Nicely done. Len
  6. Very nice puzzle Jerry, the kids will get lots of use out of it. It's awfully nice of you to think of the underpriviledged, you'll be rewarded in time for your generosity. Len
  7. Nice looking pen Roly, I get pen blanks from the firewood pile at times also. It's a great resource, you never know what you'll find. Len

  10. Nicely done Peter, it looks great. Len
  11. Dan, the ship's wheel looks great, it didn't take you long to complete it. It's a build to be proud of, the new owner should be pleased. Len
  12. Dave, both pieces look great, hopefully, Larry will take both of them. Len
  13. Wowsa Monti, there sure was a lot of cutting in this piece. I looks good now, it should look a lot better once finished. Len

    Night run!

    Nicely done. Len
  15. I usually use steel wool to scuff the surface, if I'm using a poly finish. And if I'm using lacquer, I just spray one coat on top of the other. Len
  16. Once again as always dyman (Dan) is right, they are laser cut. And to try to get the edges on your projects to look the same, would be a mistake as it would cause you to lower your prices. The people who cut them with lasers, would really like to be able to do so without burning the edges. If they could, they could sell their items for more than they do. Len
  17. I' been doing the same thing for years, I like using the magnets from old speakers. Len
  18. Les, the only thing I can figure out that BLO/BLO means, is layer after layer of blo, like more than one coating. Len
  19. Dave, I find for fixing this type of cutting, that Gel-type CA glue can be my best friend. Maybe that would work for you, it has to be the gel type though. Len

    puzzles

Nicely done Jerry, for a good cause also. Len
  21. It's gorgeous Rick, you did a fantastic job. Len
  22. Danny, I think that $3.00 per letter, and 2 for $5.00 would be a good asking price. Len
  23. You have been busy Bobby, I like all three. I notice that you have Cheyenne spelled two different ways, it's Cheyenne in the main title. But, on the cut-out you spelled it Cheynne, can you fix it on the cutting? Len
  24. Too cute Jim, the kids will love it. Len
  25. Very nice. Len
