  1. Todd, I think you have a winner here, it's so life like it's amazing. Personally, I think you could sell as many of these as you could make, the tourists would eat them up. All you need is someplace to display and sell them at, someplace with lots of foot traffic. Len
  2. Nicely done Kip, these are usually good sellers. One thing though, it helps if you have one set up so people can see how they work. Len
  3. lol Marg, it sure does look like a minion. Len
  4. I only paint the backers on my projects, and I use a large box for the over spray. Len
  5. It's a beautiful cross Delano, and the wood you used for it was a perfect choice. Len
  6. Edward, it looks great, I think using the green backer was a wise choice. Len
  7. Nice looking piece Dick, but, don't bet the farm on it selling. Just because you like something, doesn't mean it will be liked by others. You can never tell what a person might like, that's why you take everything you made. Len
  8. Dick, I'm in the "yeh" camp, you should have a wide selection of things to sell. It doesn't make any difference what time of year it is, people never know what they want, until they see it. If its not there, then they can't buy it. Keep that in mind, and you'll be all set. When I used to do the farmers market and Christmas sales, I took everything I cut even if it was out of season. You just never know what a person is looking for, so, you should display as much as you can on your display surfaces. Len
  9. Dick, why the classifieds, aren't you trying to get the stock built up for a sale? This would be another perfect piece to have on the table, the more you have, the better your table will look. Len
  10. I use it every so often, but, because of the toxic dust I wear all of my respirator equipment. I don't like using it, but, every so often my wife will want something cut out of it so she can toll paint a picture on it. If you are going to be using it, make sure your well protected from the dust, there will be a lot. Len
  11. Personally, I think you wasted your money. All you need to use to make your own sander strips, is cloth backed sandpaper in whatever grit you choose. I've never used them, just the thought of them catching an edge on a piece of fretwork is enough to keep me away from them. Plus, I've never needed them, my inside cuts are always clean enough that they don't need sanding. Len
  12. Brian, what part of the saw is the noise coming from, front or back? It could be either, and both require different types of repair. Len
  13. Paul, do you purchase your Volker patterns from his site, or, do you purchase them from Kyle Shaffer in the states? I was going to buy a lot of Volkers patterns from Kyle, but, the exchange on the dollar has changed my mind. I waited to long, I should have bought them when the dollar was at par, or close to it. For every $100.00 U.S. I spend it costs me $135.00 Can, that's just a bit much for me. Another source for this type of patterns, is Helmut who is a member here. Did you check out his site, he has a lot of them and they're good looking patterns. Len
  14. Paul, it's an outstanding cutting, these are the types of things I like to cut. Have you ever seen Volker's Christmas Nativity Scene pattern, it's the same type as this but it has five layers. I've cut it a few times already, and may end up cutting a few more. I buy the lights I use on them at the dollar store, and I use rechargeable batteries to light up the lights. The led light sets use so little amount of energy, that I only have to recharge them about every 4-5 days. If you have the back issues of CWWC, then you have a copy of the pattern. It's a very enjoyable project to cut, and the outcome will surprise and please you. Len P.S. Everyone who sees the nativity scene, wants one. It's a pattern you should look up, you won't be sorry you did.
  15. Nicely done Kevin, and you're getting paid this time. That's what I'm impressed with, now if you can keep everyone paying you'll be all set. Len
  16. Nicely done Al, he'll cherish them for years. Len
  17. Way to go Dick, nicely done. Yes this is a quick and easy pattern to cut, and it's a cutting that's easy to sell (around here anyway). The first time I cut it out, I only stack cut two copies. That was a mistake, I should have stack cut four or five copies at a time. Len

Nicely done Rob, I've always liked this pattern. I've intended to cut it for some time, maybe seeing this copy will inspire me to get it done. Len
  19. Dan, they're cute, and you got the shape right IMO. But, what if you used brass or copper wire, using either one and they couldn't rust? Len
  20. I've never seen one before now, but, I sure would like to have a copy of the pattern. I think it would be a good seller, and it looks easy to make. Len
  21. Way to go Kevin, it's gotta feel good. Len
  22. I use a metal frame with wheels on it, the two front ones swivel, the back ones don't. It's a simple system, and it only cost about $25.00. You can buy them at most places where you buy woodworking equipment. Len
  23. Smart thinking. Len

  25. I don't use a primer on any scrollsaw work, the only scrollsaw work that I paint, is the backers for portrait type projects. Len
