  1. He's a cute little fella Dan, will you be selling him? Len
  2. Gorgeous crosses Edward, they should be good sellers. Len
  3. Nicely done Bobby, what type of stain did you use on them? Len
  4. There doesn't seem to be any way to stop it from happening, you hear tell of it happening on an almost daily basis. I've never heard of anyone ever being reprimanded for doing it, so, why should they stop? The same thing is going on on You-Tube, people are posting other peoples videos under their name not giving credit to whom it is owed. Personally, I don't think that there is any way of stopping it from happening, it happens in all walks of life. Len
  5. I cut all circles on a scrollsaw project with the scrollsaw, if the circle requires dressing up, I then use the router. I find it much easier and quicker to use the scrollsaw to cut the circles, than I do the router. Len
  6. You would think that WTB would have placed an announcement regarding closing the FD site, on the FD site? That's if the site is actually closed, and it's not just a glitch. Len
  7. Bobby, for 1/4" bb plywood, I usually use a #3UR blade from the Flying Dutchman. Len
  8. I purchase patterns, if I see something I really like the look of, I don't mind paying for it. You have to realize, these people selling patterns do it for a living. They can't afford to give all of their patterns away for free, and if they had to, they would quit making them. Len
  9. Personally, I'll never own one, for the same reason I'll never own a Hegner saw. I don't like the lower blade clamps, they're just something that I would be forever misplacing. I watched the video and saw how Carole changed the blade, it takes longer to change it on the new Jet then on the EX. I like the EX that I own, and I don't see any improvements on this saw that would make me change my mind. Len
  10. Danny, building a scroll saw stand out of 2x4 lumber, cost about the same as buying a metal scroll saw stand. So, instead of building one out of wood, I bought a metal one and I don't regret it. Len
  11. Speed? It takes a fair amount of trial and error time to learn what speed you should be cutting at. Once you've put enough time into the trial and error part, you'll soon realize that you go by feel and listening to your saw. I pay very little attention to what speed my saw is set at. I know from listening to the sound my saw makes, and from the feel of the wood going into the blade. I don't ever recall a time when I ran my saw at full speed to cut anything, no matter how thick/thin the wood might be. Len
  12. Dan, it looks great with the S in the middle of it, I wonder what it would look like with other letters using the same font? Len
  13. Well Kip, I think projects like this one is a good use for the teak. It won't go bad, so keep it for a special project. You could always build boxes with it, they seem to sell for others. Len
  14. Outstanding Jim, both the pattern and the cutting. For a first pattern, you did an amazing job sketching this one up. Len
  15. Art, I'm not sure where it is, or, what has happened to it. Hopefully, Travis will chime in here and let you know what has changed. Len.
  16. Ike, is that the brand name, or, is it the name given to the style of blade? Len
  17. Live and learn Monti, live and learn. Len
  18. Ron, did you do a Google search on it? I was given two valuable fishing rods a couple of months ago, after my dad had passed. I wanted to know more about the rods, so, I did a Google search and found lots of info on the rods. I even learned what year they were made, and I learned what they might be worth. What they're worth doesn't matter to me, these rods were my grandfathers, and I have no intentions of ever selling or getting rid of them. Good luck with your search. Len
  19. Delano, these two pieces look great, there's definitely nothing wrong with your cutting skills. One thing though, before you glue everything together, you had better do some sanding. There's to many fuzzies showing, and it would be better remove them before going any farther with this project. Len
  20. Paul, I think it's a good idea, I'm not to sure how it will look. For it to look good, I think it will have to have some size to it. And using the different fonts for each name is different, I'm interested in seeing them used all together on one cutting. This will be interesting to look at when finished, have you started cutting it yet? Len
  21. Richard, it's beautiful, I can well see where there would be forty hours worth of scrolling in it. I'm very interested in seeing it once it is framed and finished, and I'm happy for you that you stack cut it. I would hate to think that you have all those hours in it, to only have one copy. Len
  22. Cute on Dave, I'm the feline feeder here. Len
  23. As long as it has one coating of sealer, that's all that's needed. You don't need the back to be as good looking as the front, you just need it sealed so that it can't absorb moisture. Len
  24. Another masterpiece Randy, post away, that's what the site is for. Both the heart and the infinity sign together, make a nice message? Len
