  1. Jeff, both pieces look amazingly good, does the color ever change the way they look. I don't usally like painted projects, but, for these two items I have to disagree with what I usually think or like. You and your wife are quite the team, your painted projects should sell for double the norm. Len
  2. Kevin, if the manager is asking you to cut specific names for him/her, then you have to let them know up front how much it will cost. Sure it's nice being a nice guy, but, obvisously you're the only nice guy in the group. Otherwise, these people wouldn't be taking advantage of you, by not paying for your work. I've stated this a few times now in an attempt to help you out, but,it doesn't seem to be sinking in. So, I'll try to stop harping on what you should or shouldn't do, it's just sad to see you always ending up with the short end of the stick. Len
  3. Bob, thanks for sharing these pictures with us, I'm always interested in seeing others work. I used to enter my cuttings in the fair competitions, but I haven't for years. They got cheap and quit offerings prizes or ribbons for our work, they said it just got to expensive. They stated that, they just wanted us to display our work so that it would draw in the crowds. Most of us quit putting our work on display after hearing this, because the crowds were larger than ever and the operators were taking in a fortune. Len
  4. Jim, both pieces are outstanding, you did a wonderful job cutting both. Len
  5. Nicely done, what is it? A vase, a dish, definitely not a bowl, but it is very cool. How thick are the sidewalls, they can't be very thick with it being that tall? Len
  6. We know, because you told us. Try slowing down a bit, and maybe this won't happen as often. Len
  7. What, are you nuts?? First, he's Canadian, second he's a Newfoundland Canadain, therefore, he's a Maple Leaf fan!!!! Len
  8. It's a gorgeous bit of intarsia work Terrylee, I like how you have it displayed on a pallet stock backer. Len
  9. Outstanding!!! Len
  10. Very nice cutting Helmut, your wife has decorated it in a nice way. It looks great, but, I think it might look better if the snowmen were a bit smaller. Len
  11. Tony, Dan is right about Rosewood being an irritant, make sure you protect yourself. For Rosewood, it would be better to not use the fan. Let the sawdust fall where it may then vacumn it up, this is dust you don't want in the air you breathe. Wear gloves, and use a respirator just to be safe. Len
  12. How long have you waited for Seyco to reply, and where did you send the e-mail to? Are you sure it was Seyco, why didn't you call them? I live in Canada and Ray always returns my calls, I've never sent him an e-mail. Len
  13. Perfect! Len
  14. Nathan, your puzzles are amazing, what type of finish are you going to use on them? For them to be good sellers, they should have a finish on them. I could never sell any of them that didn't have some sort of finish on them, either paint or poly/varnish. Len
  15. Nicely done Dave, it looks fantastic. I wonder what it would look like, if the backer part that is behind the ring was gold in color? Just the part that involves the ring, not the writing part, leave it black. Len
  16. I agree with Scott, some of those organizations will give you special permission to copy their emblem, but it can be hard to get. Len
  17. No Bob, I'd never do a "sure it'll do" cutting to give to someone else, especially, if it's got an issue as obvisous as the w in this piece. People aren't blind, I actually think some of them have magnifying eyes that can see a mistake in no time. If you can see the error, be guarenteed they and others can see it also. What kind of impression of your work, do you think that leaves them with? If it's not perfect or near perfect it doesn't leave my shop. It took years to earn my reputation, I'll be damned if I'm going to wreck it by putting out sub-par work. Len
  18. Frank, there may not be any or many atheist/scepticism patterns, due to them being a controversial patterns? Most sites don't allow political or religous topics to be discussed, due to the controversy that it causes. Athiest patterns would tend to do the same, as most people don't agree with it and they would have to let you know that. If you have any of these types of patterns, go ahead and post them I'm interested in reading what others have to say about them. Len
  19. Robert, it's a nice looking cutting, how are you going to finish it? Len
  20. Looks good John, your wife must be pleased with it. Len
  21. Jeff, it's an outstanding cutting, you did a fantastic job. Len
  22. Outstanding cutting Helmut, beautiful sewing box. Len
  23. Good for you Kevin, yer catchin on. Len
  24. Ken, these trophies look incredible, your clients are sure to be pleased. A couple of questions though, how come you used a different species of wood for the base, and, why did you leave the base so large? Len
