1. I will save that as a last resort. I can guarantee it will be quick and painless
2. Ordered my 788 from Grizzly on Wednesday will be here tommorow. It was a hard decision between the Excalibur 16" and the Dewalt. Weighed the pros and cons on both and factored in my budget the DeWalt won. My biggest concerns on the Dewalt were the reported issues with knocking, blade alignment, blade tensioning and the off/on switch. Luckily these are all pretty minor fixes which you can do at home. I'll check all these before it gets mounted to the stand. Hopefully there won't be any issues.
3. Just a followup....Got an email from Seyco concerning shipping charges. There is a problem with their online shipping calculator. The shipping charge to my location should have been $43.70 not $72.00 dollars.
4. Well Done!! Very clean detail using spirals. I might have to reconsider using them. It's nice too see a finished piece from one of the great SSV pattern makers. Most of the time a pattern is requested and designed and the finished piece is never posted.
5. I had the intentions of ordering a EX16 saw from Seyco last night (on sale for $499.99). When I checked the shipping charges the price for shipping was $72.00 dollars! There was no info on whether this was for standard, overnight or second day shipping. Needless to say I was shocked I'm thinking that it will be delivered by one of the Dallas cowboy cheerleaders with a case of beer I don't care how good the saw is...Paying that much for shipping is ridiculous I sent an email to Seyco just to find out what they're charging for It looks like I might invest in a DeWalt 788. The Dewalt factory authorized outlet store has them online for $489.00 with FREE shipping I've never done business with them so I think I'll call on Monday for some info. I don't want a refurbished or factory second. Has anyone done business with this company before? http://www.factoryauthorizedoutlet.com/
6. Took all the leftover pieces of 1/4" bb ply I had and stack cut some crosses. Added some rings and a chain and there you have it.
7. Those are kool! I'd have to hang the top one on my front door

Thanks...Total time was around 6 hours. Cut on 1/4" baltic birch ply. Used FD-PSR5 blades. Overall size 8.5 X 11 inches. I'm used to working with flat blades so it gets a bit easier as I do more cuts.

I thought I would try a pattern/cut on one of DaVinci's well known paintings. The facial feautures were a bit challenging due to the size. I think just a head shot would have been easier. But like the old addage "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." I did get to practice quite a few manuevers (spin and cut) on this one.
11. Nice detail great cuts. I see you have a CW40
12. Thinking about selling your patterns or scroll art online? Not quite sure if you want to invest that kinda money for a site and web hosting. Here's a great and FREE way to try it out. Microsoft offers a free web site with domain name and email for small business. Nothing to lose...Check it out. http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/en-us/
13. That came out great!!! Love the wood and finish. She will love it
14. Yep...A little rest and I was back at it again. I even fixed the boys hand. Evidently I must of had a brain fade on that one. My wife pointed out the mess up. A few more to do and I'm done for the fair.
15. Like grampa, I keep them on flash drives. When I need one just print it out.
16. Excellent cuts...Great detail.
17. That's cool! Great way to keep a roll handy
18. A big THANKS to grampa for a excellent pattern I wanted to diversify my selection for the fair and this one fit the bill perfectly. I havn't made so many cuts in one piece for a while I tried to finish it yesterday but no luck. Arms cramped up from releasing the blade tensioner so many times Thanks Again, Vector01
19. Yep...I finished my "Honey Do" list. Finished the big tree today. Based on Travis's pattern but a bit larger. Made from 3/4" pine. Stands 11" tall with a 8.5" long oval base.
20. Looks great. Excellent layout...Clean with nice clear photos.
21. Great cut excellent detail. The wife loves cats.
22. Great job. With all that cutting you're gonna need a new saw soon
23. First I'd like to thank Bluelucky/Mike for this great pattern. The pattern was well designed and fun to cut. It will be added to my selections for the upcoming craft fair. Thanks Again, Vector01
24. I'm working on a larger version of Travis's xmas tree pattern with lights for the wife. I ran into situation where I needed to enlarge the slot in the base for the tree and clean up the holes for the lights. My needle files were too small and my wood files were too big. So I went into the old toolbox for some inspiration. I came across some step tape I used to use for adapting grips on my pistols. Going back to the table I grabbed three craft popsicle sticks, glued them together, and cut a piece of step tape and stuck it on. This made a great sander for enlarging the slot in the base. I now needed something round for the holes in the tree. A pencil was to big so I found a paintbrush. I cut a piece of step tape and attached it to the brush handle. Worked like a charm. You can find step tape at most hardware stores. It's also sold as skate board tape at sporting good stores. They sell it by the foot or roll it's about 80 grit and has an adhesive backing. 25. I was using spray poly (matte) finish on my portraits. I recently tried minwax natural stain and found it easier to apply without the runs, waiting for it to dry, etc. The stain gets right into the thin cuts and covers easily. It does darken the wood slightly but also brings out the grain.
