  1. Had one a few years back for my woodburnings...Nada! Better off trying the free web site from Microsoft. http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/en-us/ If you luck out great...If not no loss, it's free.
  2. Those came out great!
  3. My daughter called me last night and asked if I could make a gift for one of her friends. She said "something out of wood, you know." I laughed and replied "Along with scrolling I'm a part time psychic." "What does she like?" My daughter said that her (friends) boyfriend was teaching her how to play texas hold'em. He was always telling her to "Put on her poker face." I said "Ok, Ive got an idea." I started Inkscape and went to work. Made from 3/4" pine cut with a Fd-UR 5 blade. Finished (base) with minwax dark walnut stain and upper portion with minwax natural stain. Took about an hour and a half (with breaks) to cut. Overall it's seven inches high by seven and a half inches wide. I chose the 10-2 of hearts which was a hand made famous by lengendary poker player Doyle Brunson. Doyle had won two of his ten poker championships playing those cards.
  4. Not so strange...Some people gauge the quality of an item by price. Instead of saying "wow, this is a good deal" They'll actually stand there and pick it apart. Well, like Mike mentioned when you see her again double the price
  5. Great cut That did bring a smile to his face
  6. Thanks...Painted according to the boss's direction Cut a backer and add a hanger, that's it. There's a nice wolf pattern I'm gonna try next. This time I'll use wood stains.
  7. I,m still working on that pile of 3/4" pine trim pieces. My wife wanted something to go on the bathroom wall. Had to be seashore type theme. Pulled another stained glass pattern and gave it a shot. I think the shaping thing is starting to sink in. Problem is you make an adjustment on one part and everything else needs trimming. My biggest problem is glueing everything up. Dry fit looks good but when glued I,m off on the fit. Got everything cut and shaped. Now I need to pick some colors that will match the bathroom. Gonna go with the old acrylic wash trick. Makes it easier to match the existing colors. Gives me something to cut anyways
  8. Well done! Excellent detail!
  9. Great cut! Right on the money!
  10. Thanks...Frame from Walmart. They used to be cheap $2.50 each. Now they're almost $4.00 bucks. Had some left over from last years craft fair fiasco. Waste not what not
  11. Original request by my friend on the fire dept. Finally got it cut yesterday. Cut on 1/4" baltic birch ply using FD-PSR 5 blades.
  12. try this... http://www.wood-database.com/wood-identification/ Looks like "Santos Mahogany"
  13. They all came out great The baltic birch might be inexpensive but makes wonderful projects.
  14. Excellent The addition of the colored clay really highlights the wood.
  15. Wow...No wonder you were MIA Fantastic work How many pots of coffee did that one take?
  16. No problem. It's actually the way it should be (for the blades I received). They (FD) will really be confused now
  17. Wow...I'm really confused. I tried both blades (UR 5 and 7) this morning on some 3/4" hardwoods with the indent as the top of the blade. They both cut great. The only thing I noticed was there's a bit more lift than a regular reverse blade. After reading Mikes post on the indent on the 7's being the bottom I checked it out. I took a close up photo of the 7's tooth orientation and found that there are two teeth facing down and one facing up. This is with the mark to the right end of the blade (looking from the top). I'm assuming that the two down teeth are the ones that should be cutting on the down stroke. So...This would indicate (to me anyways) that the indent on the 7's is the top of the blade. The green arrows shows the down teeth. The red arrow shows the reverse tooth.
  18. That's great...Really aggravating when you have a tool you can't use.
  19. Check this out, it might help... viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3181&hilit=+loose+screws
  20. Just got my UR blades from Mike. I noticed that on one end of the blade(s) there is a small indent. I'm taking a guess that this indicates the top of the blade Did I guess right?
  21. Beautiful piece Grain compliments the work nicely.
  22. Fantastic Gives the impression of a wind blown mane.
  23. Two suggestions 1) Post the picture in "Pattern Requests" and ask for some help making the pattern. 2) Download Gimp (free) then go to the "Village University" and check out the great tutorials on making portrait patterns. If your serious on learning how to make portrait patterns then option #2 is the way to go.
