  1. Hi all, I thought I might try an Alex Fox pattern, anyone know what he puts his patterns on and then just sticks it on the wood? I wonder if it is full size shipping labels or what, it's something that peels off. Thanks Bill
  2. HI, Prayers going out to you there.
  3. Hi I have a bunch of those pattens and I have yet to make one.....there used to be someone on here that just made them all the time. Bill
  4. HI That is really cool!! Congrats on your nice work Bill
  5. Hi I have been a Hegner owner for many years and I would check it out like octool says but at 400 dollars that is a good deal if it works ok. I paid 500 dollars for my 15 years ago and it was never used so I got a steal then. Bill
  6. Very nice Denny,. They will really enjoy that Bill
  7. HI I don't use my bellows, I have a air brush compressor hooked up to my saw and it works great for keeping dust away while sawing. I then mounted a shop vac floor brush upside down under my saw front and my dust collector kicks on when I step on the pedal. Bill
  8. HI All I can say is WOW!!! It's nice to see someone who knows why here is still here amongest us all. PUt Jesus First in your life and He will take care of you. Congrats on the wonderful work NRscroller
  9. HI Congrats on the purchase, I have had a hegner for many years. Try the new pegas blades, I really like them. Bill
  10. HI everyone: I didn't mean to get anyone upset about what I said when I wanted to not renew. I can see there are things for some to make in there, but it sure has changed since the old days when there was some real content in there. I am glad I have most of the back issues to get patterns from and look at. Thanks Bill
  11. HI I got my lates SSCW magazine and I find nothing in it worth doing. Its to bad they focus a whole issue on one subject. Renewal time is not going to happen. Bill
  12. I am sorry I posted the wrong thing, I meant the regular clamp on the top. that round knob on top of that clamp needs to have some wiggle romm, so you clamp that tight and then back that off a bit just so it wiggles a little, then lock the quick clamp ok I fix problem now Thanks Bill
  13. HI Don That is cute. I just downloaded that pattern, have to get to it sometime soon. Busy with spring projects now Bill
  14. HI Denny That LOon is beautiful, I will have to look for that pattern and try that. It would look nice on our lake home wall somewhere Bill
  15. Hi I have had a hegner for years and I love it. According to Advanced Machinery loosen up your tension on that back end of the saw, MAKE SURE there is no oil on those threads or the whole thing in fact. YOu only want to put light oil on those two spots marked with and arrow. Now that you have the tension loose, clamp the blade down and start tensioning up. When you just feel that tension start, tighten 3/4 of a turn and listen for a HI C note or ping on you blade. That should be sufficient. The heavier the blade it might not require as much tension. Also make sure if you have the quick disconnect on the top that you loosen that nut above the blade holder just so you get a little wiggle out of it so it has some play. Good luck Bill
  16. HI That is very nice, that would look great hanging on my lake cabin wall Bill
  17. Hi Congrats you made a wise choice and Advanced Machinery is very good for parts and help. Enjoy, I have had mine for many years and its rock solid' Bill
  18. Congrats, you did make something nice. It just takes practice and courage to do it. I have been scrolling for years and I made an Ark of the Covenant scrollsaw project for our Pastor for Christmas and I've never done anything that complicated. I took a picture of it and hung it up next to my scroll saw with a sign over it that says If you can make this Bill, you can make anything. Try that one, it may help keep you on track Bill in Wisconsin
  19. HI Do you have plans for that stand you built for your hegner, I have the regular steel stand but I am short and now I am raised up on a box frame with a stool and it would be nice to have a lower stand I could sit at on the stool. Thanks Bill
  20. HI That is really nice, I will have to look for that pattern on his site Bill
  21. HI This is interesting, I guess I knew about that from the book, so what do you gain by channging to the inner hookup, I do a lot of 1/8 inch bb plywood stuff Bill
  22. Hi I went to our local smaller Dollartree, nothing. I went to a larger one and nothing. They must not stock very well or else they aren't getting any more in. Bill
  23. Hi I thought whoever posted about the boards recently got them at Dollar Tree?? I went to our local one and none. I went to a bigger one yesterday and they did not know anything about them although they do have more crafts. Was this a Dollar Tree store or another brand?? Thanks Bill
