  2. hi all I have 2 saws, a Dewalt first generation like new that sits and my Hegner 18vs that I have had for many years that I bought used, but it had no use on it. That is my main saw Bill
  3. HI everyone I would just like to say after consulting with Rocklers and the help of two great people here on the village site, Octool guy and New2woodwork I have decided against a dust collector and am staying with my hang up shop vac and my dust deputy for scrolling. I have that 12 foot hose with different fittings from Rocklers and that new switch that I posted in the other forum from Menards for my vac setup I am all set and happy. I am keeping it simple as I age. (soon to be 75 on the 27th)> I would like to say I have been on this village for a long time now and everyone is just great at helping and ideas. Bill
  4. HI guys, Thanks for the input, I was going to buy the dust collector that goes on the wall and the guy at Rockler talked me out of it. He said if all I was gonna do was scroll saw and sand I didn't need it. Does he really know what he is doing????? According to reviews on the harbor freight one also, everyone likes it and it does the job. I personally would rather have the dust collector so is that gonna pick up sawdust from my scrollsaw and my sanders? Thanks Bill
  5. HI I have a hang up shop vac brand hooked to my dust deputy and is is really loud. I wear muffs but it's still loud with them on. Outside of the high priced fein or festool stuff I don't need, does anyone make a decent sounding shop vac out there or maybe I should look for a regular vacuum that would work. Suggestions? Thanks Bill
  6. Hi I never got into it so I use my compressor that I have for it hooked up as a blower on my scroll saw. Been using it for years and it beats bellows and aquarium pumps by a long shot Bill
  7. Hi That is a nice pattern and it is appropiate for this time of this year especially. Bill

  11. HI, I use the dremel workstation alongside my regular drill press. Then I drill bigger holes with a 1/16 bit and whatever size blade I am using a use a wire bit. works great. You can get wire bits from widget supply on the internet Bill
  12. HI all I want to try the shipping lable method, but what do I do if I only have say a 4 x 4 ornament to print out, how do I use the rest of the blank space on that sheet after it comes out of my laser printer with only that on the sheet? I need to be able to use the whole sheet otherwise its a waste of money for me. Thanks Bill
  13. HI Those are cute, they will like them Bill
  14. HI I don't make big stuff so I made a box shape, put pegboard on the top and stapled router mat to it, put a dust port in the back and I am all set. Way cheaper than grizzly Bill
  15. HI everyone, I made a deer hunter picture for my grandson and a friend of mine asked me for the pattern and he has an old single speed Delta 40-150 with the twin blade holders and was having problems with blades breaking etc. So I went out and took a look at it and I brought some of my pegas 2/0 blades and they won't fit in the blade holders. I tightened the holder down tight and they fell out. Does anyone make any retrofits for them? I thought I would see if they did. I found a parts direct on line and it says they are not available anymore as the originals. Just trying to help the guy out and I told him nicely he would not be able to cut that picture out on that saw. Thanks Bill
  16. HI Charlie That is just beautiful and cool. That is what Christmas is all about, going to get that special tree. Bill in Wisconsin
  17. HI everyone I bought myself a black and decker mouse sander today so I am good now for finish work. Thanks for the response from everyone. Bill
  18. Thanks folks I saw in one of my past issues of SSWC that someone used a ezlock in their dremel with some sort of small 320 grit buffer things so I sent for some to see how they work. I also sand before, I was just concerned about sanding after and I had seen where they used a mouse sander that was mentioned above. Have never tried the torch, Thanks Bill
  19. HI all, I do a lot of ornaments etc, and I have been using a pad sander and a downdraft box, in reading some of my older issues of SSWC I saw a few places where people used the mouse style sander as they wern't so aggresive to prevent breaking pieces, anybody using this and any reccomendations for a brand that is good? Thanks Bill
  20. Hey Stoney How do you relocate that stop, I don't use a hold down and i would love to be able to get my arm up higher on mine. thanks Bill MESSAGE ME WITH THAT INFO PLEASE!!!!
  21. HI Do you have to put that jet clamp in a vise to load up the blade? Bill
  22. HI I Lost my paint shop pro 9 program when I went to windows 10, it allowed me to scan and resize a pattern. Any free ones out there that are easy to work with or suggestions otherwise. I don't like paint.net Thanks Bill
  23. HI all I have been using green painters tape for years and I agree with a post up above, that when it comes time to take it off, you end up with lots of little pieces. I just started using the clear stuff from Walmart and it is great. My wife suggested I take the roll and cut off about a few feet that roll it up in the opposite direction and put a rubber band around it and when its time to use it, it will lay flatter for you. I just take my little piece of plywood and lay it on the backside and cut around the board with a exacto knife and then peel it off and stick it to it. Works ver well I feel Bill in Wisconsin
  24. Beautiful, I have not cut them yet but will soon. I use a pegasus 2 blade for all my 1/ 8 in work Bill
  25. HI, I have a brother black and white laser printer with scanner and I love it for scroll saw patterns. When you buy new toner get the regular Brother brand and the larger soze cartridge, I recently got a cheaper one off ebay and it was not the best. Didn't last long. Also about once a week pull your cartridge out of the holder and genly shake it up and down a couple times to stir up the toner so you get even color. Bill
