  1. Excellent cutting and great pattern. Reminds me of Walter Brennan from The Real McCoys.

NIce job! I agree with Roly. It would look awesome left on the board.
  4. BLO done not have a bad or strong smell. It does bring out the grain and may darken the wood some. How dark depends on the wood. You can apply other finishes over the top of it. It will take several days or even a week to dry. You can thin it with mineral spirits.
  5. Excellent job! I have that on my to-do list.
  6. Those came out great! I really love working with walnut.
  7. Great job and nice story. That is the most detailed pattern that I've seen. Can you share it or is it someone else's pattern?
  8. Love it! You did an excellent job.
  9. What an excellent idea Martin. I'll have to keep that in mind if I do any portraits like that.
  10. I also use a dust mask and have a fan/filter set up. I thought about getting Delta filter system that mounts to the ceiling but some of the dust particles get caught up in that gravity thing and will fall to the ground. I set my fan/filter next to my saw with the bottom of the fan about 6" below the table and it seems to collect most of the dust. I still have to vacuum after a large project and try to do it daily at a minimum. Before I wore a dust mask, I was happy with just the fan/filter but noticed sometimes I blow my nose and the tissue is black. I figured I was still inhaling some dust, so the mask is worn every time I scroll now.
  11. That came out great. What is your new saw?
  12. Merry Christmas! The cross is outstanding. Great detail. Who's design is it.
  13. I try to make ornaments every year for my kids. One of my boys got married this years and when I saw Keefie's First Christmas Together ornament I asked him to design one for my son. This is the result. A GREAT BIG "THANK YOU" KEEFIE! I stack cut it out of 1/8" BB ply and put mahogany veneer between two pieces. I rushed to get the finish on so it's not perfect but it still looks nice. The picture was taken with my phone, sorry.

Excellent job and kudos to the pattern makers, too.
  18. Nice shop indeed. It looks well organized, but it's so clean.
  19. Thanks for all the hard work Clayton.
  20. Both look fantastic.
  21. Good job! I cannot tell where it broke.
  22. Downloaded my copy. There are some great ornaments. Thanks to all contributors and those scrollers who donate. I think I'll be donating to the local foodbank and Toys For Tots.
  23. Beautiful!! What are the eyes made of?
  24. Looks great! I like glass because I hate dust buildup. It a personal choice, of course. You may be able to use thr frame by putting strips of woos the same thickness as the portrait around the back of the frame. This will give the frame a little extra depth.
  25. That came out great.
