  1. hI BECKY, in the meantime, if you have a dremil with the router attachment, you could rout out the tiny spots where you can't get a pinned blade in.
  2. i just sorted out all the hard woods i got from im for doing stars .i'm exausted to say the least.Bushel baskets full of all types of woods!

Hello Dennis and thanks for finding us!They tell me Grove city has a wonderful scrolling couple just starting out,Great!His and her machines,i like that!!!Everybody needs a scroll saw,no two ways about it !!!Once you've been biten by the scrolling fever the only cure is to keep on scrolling.In a very short time you will be wowing your friends with great interesting projects you and the misses will knock out .When you get to the end of the rope and are stuck with what to do or how to fix it,tie a knot and hang on! the friendly folks here will have you back up and running in short order.I've seen alot come to the village but your interest and willing to log in some pleasureable hours is just the ticket for a new member.quicker than you can say dw788 your going to be a real asset to the club.Everybody here knows something the others don't and already with your knowledge you'll fit right in ,To start with your going to take larger pieces of wood ,just like on your lathe and make smaller pieces from it!!! Piece of cake scrolling.I,m very interested in seeing how you progress scrolling here.Stop in everyday to see what tips and tricks are floating in and say hello in the coffee house.Thursday is the scedualed chat room but you can go in and see if someone shows up anytime.Thanks for joining us!
  7. The little woman has great tastes and you can match her tastes with your skills in cutting them. Exquisite workmanship Sparky :)

Just cut slower than with straight blades,don't force the cutting let the blade do the work and keep the blade very tight and make sure it stays tight thru you cutting.When it's not responding to your liking the blade has loosened up. Spirals need to be much tighter than flat blades,thats the secret!

  13. Thanks Clayton, countless days of tedious, detailed pretty precise cutting to make the bushel basket full of stars for him,lol good practice for the insane or want to be insane,lol,works work that's how I look at it .It's all quality time spent on a scroll saw!!!
  14. DW he furnished his whole house himself,very dry looking taste but he did it himself,he does a quality job on all he tackles,He was a crane operator all his life but the union stole all the funds so he's got nothing for all the years worked like eastern airlines did to their employees.

  16. Thanks roly,he hasn't used near enough stars to warrant my slaveing at them.He's still got bags full of them.I just brought him hundreds more but left empty handed as i cleaned him out of the small scraps he had.Oh well!

  22. the stars i make go on these flags .Made from cedar ,pine & blue paint. the sheds contain aromatic cedar,oak, pine,african mahogany, walnut,100 year old cedar and more.He buys trailer fulls from out of state.

Welcome friend,the village won't be the same without you!Stop in often to see what you would have missed.Haa ,lol i've had the time of my life on saws that were lacking lots.But they gave great experience I never would have gotten waiting for better.It sure made a difference having a quality saw after 6 years without a good one. Your interest in scrolling is going to skyrocket with all the friendly help were going to give you.We've been there ,done that so you don't have to waste time going about it the hard way.Machine repairs ,we can steer you to the best place to get the parts you need or tell you what's wrong with your machine.Show us some of your fire wood projects if you have any.we love laughs.In fact you'll have more fun than a barrel of monkeys in the village.everybody helps everybody here.The tea and coffee is always free too,sometimes there's buffet too!Travis the owner is our cheif cook and bottle washer so you won't have to look far for a clean cup to get your mud in in the morning coffee house. Ok now show us how they scroll up michigan way.WELCOME!
