  9. Interesting trick art, hone the side of the blade,I'd never have thought of the .Some blades i use are real wild about going to one side or the other .I have to compliment you on you dw788 info ,it's the best ever.
  10. Hi jjammo,Depending which blades you use some tend to vear to the right so you have to go with the flow and compensate for this .I'm sure this could be the problem .It was mine in the begining. It's caused from the way the blade was made .So feed your wood in on a slight angle and you'll do good!i know you said the blade is tight in the blade holder but how about guitar string tention tight, just a though to help not being there.
  11. MR.DAN,Very impressive and ulta high quality work. You should have been a real bread winner at the show.My mouth dropped open When i seen how good it all looks.I'm impressed. The craft show i visted across the street would have given you the blue ribbon for hand made stuff.Great post ,great job!You are the best!
  12. today was the craft show and i was not included.I found 2.00 to get in and found some interesting ideas. On clear dinner plates they took thin cloth with pictures on them and somehow stuck them to the plate on the underneath side. They looked so good, photo quality because of the thick glass.also clear glass blocks with lights on a string with various items inside for that occasion.Nothing intarsia or scroll sawn. There was a small car show too.
  13. Art ,You are the best at finding these dw788 fix it links ,chance found good ones to.They are the best.Looks like some thinking went into these machine on the drawing table, compated to the chinese versons of a scroll saw. This is invalueable for the do it your selfer(me).I'd like to open one up just to sit in awe at somebodys idea of makeing a good scroll saw finally.Great post Art.!
  14. Grampa ,It's aaaallmost the same size as a real copper penny
  15. Great job Daniel,It really spiff's up plain jane box's,etc.Your scrolling talants have'nt changed ,Your one of the best.!Good job my friend! add's life to the house!
  16. Very nice job patterning and cutting to Mike!
  17. i make wooden pennys with mine!
  18. Sweet cutting project Tony She 'll enjoy this for ever!
  19. Hi malc.lot's of us make the mistake of tightening the blade holder but forget to tighten the blade tention to guitar string tight before turning on the machine.I still do it as my mind is to just keep scrolling ,never mind the details.Maybe this could be the cause of the problem your haveing. If the tention is not up to snuff it will hammar it'self right out of the holder.
  20. Hi Pam, Those stand up xmas scene's are a work of art . i'm sure yours will be too.The one's i've seen have been handed down through the familys.Show us yours when done if you don't mind.
  21. hello, If it's going to be be stand up big i would use a jig saw.what size are in your plans .As for a scroll saw ,the big box stores have them for a hundred bucks .or you could find a used one on craigs list for 50. get the saw blades with reverse tooth if you want clean sanding free edges both sides.hope this helps.Big projects are tough to do as the throat of the scroll saws are 16 to 20".
  22. Very good dw! looks like you could start a series of collector plates. The tissue paper is a nice effect i never thought of ,good thinking!
  23. Good one Art ,This guy come up with them !I remember his last do nothing project that was equally interesting too!thanks for the entertainment .
  24. hello TOM, welcome!I like to sit in a chair with a bach on it so i can have support for my lower back. It helps fighting fatige and makes me have proper posture. For a practice piece thin cuts quicker ,so in the begining you may want that to practice on so you'll adjust fast to the ways of scrolling .Try to you at least 4 teeth in contact with the wood at all time sas a rule.1/4 wood 4 teeth 1" wood 16 teeth.for faster cuts less teeth per inch.clean cuts top and bottom with little or no sanding use a blade with reverse teeth. Some one else will chime in on the casters for you soon.Enjoy your stay and make your own gallery here .Show off your fire wood first projects so we can all learn from them, lol.Post your works as you finish them in the user gallery. Thanks for comeing!
  25. GRAMPA,BRETT and CLAYTON,You sure know how to pump somebody up,whew! The hairs are standing on my back in glowing graditude.I need to definetly slow down on tires as there's no forgiveing on an over cut .Spirals are a joy to use now.If you have some and want to get rid of them, i know somebody that would go gaga for them, lol!
