  1. Oh Golly I go to Dollar Tree and get one for a 1.25. I never could bring myself to pay for those overpriced Hallmark cards.
  2. The thing with Stained Glass is when you are doing such small pieces you will need a glass grinder. I have done many items with small pieces that is the way to go. I also have a glass saw which helps a lot. Yes glass is gotten expensive which is why I save all my scraps.
  3. We are two miles East of M66 and about 20 Miles North of Ionia. So that's not bad at all. We go to Charlotte a couple times a year just to check out their wood. Plus hubby doesn't mind driving my truck. LOL
  4. You are about 74 miles from me. I am in Six Lakes. Hubby says next week weather permitting we could come get some.
  5. Went back to the Estate Sale and got the other wood. 5 4x4 1/2 in., 2 slabs of 2 inch and a 8x2 1/4 inch luan plywood plus several misc short pieces that will be perfect for ornaments, all for 8.00. What a deal. Hubby is really happy about the two pieces of slab wood not sure what type wood it is. He will run it thru his planer and clean it up.
  6. Steve Good has been experimenting with AI, check with him. He should be able to help you.
  7. Like you I hardly never find any decent wood. Couldn't put this in the car fast enough. I am going to take the truck and go back and take a second look at the wood hubby said was water stained. Along as it's not warped I can stain over or paint. Second day everything is usually half price.
  8. Went to a Estate Sale and picked up 13 4x4 x 3/8th thick sheets of Luan plywood for $13.00. Hubby didn't waste any time putting them in the car. lol. 450
  9. Good old Amazon, they seem to have almost everything.
  10. Hello and Welcome, Lots of friendly, helpful folks here. Check out our pattern library. Any questions just ask.
  11. I found this on Esty. Maybe this will help somewhat. We have some wonderful pattern makers here maybe one of them can help with a pattern. MidEvil.webp
  12. Ray did you try and contact the person selling the Hegner and ask him about the clock. Maybe he can (will) tell you where he got the idea and/or pattern for it.
  13. Beautiful Frank.
  14. Hi RoseMary, It can be frustrating at first but just try a little at a time. Being self-taught I started with cutting silhouettes and went really slow. I find that using a scroll saw is almost the same as using a sewing machine. Like you I am a visual type of person. It's easier for me if someone can show me how something is done. As Dan says there are several members in Wisconsin. Have you checked with your local school to see if they have a woodworking/scroll saw class? As for tuning your saw check to see if their is repair shop in your general area. Check with your local hardware or do you a hobby lobby in your area? You might find someone that way. It takes time, Patiences and a lot of practice. Hang in there you will master this.
  15. Couple of places to check, Pinterest, Sue Mey...Scrollsaw Artist.
  16. Do you have Amish close by? Maybe you could talk to them and see what they would charge to build you your table. Or maybe a handyman in your area (think Marketplace or Facebook). Also I'm thinking someone who builds those work sheds would be able to do a side job and built you a bench. Just a couple of things to consider. If you were closer I could lend you my hubby, he can build anything.

  18. Welcome to the Village. Be sure to check out our Pattern Library and also sign up for Steve Good's newsletter. He sends out new patterns several days a week.
  19. Both Canon and Hp has the tank on their printer ( I have both) and it is so much cheaper to use then the cartridges . Both printers are reasonable prices (walmart) and both of my printers are wireless so I can print from my laptop inside the house to my printer in my workshop.
  20. Sue Mey and Sheila Landry both sell paper patterns. Check out their websites.
  21. LOL, love it!
  22. The one project that was special for me is finding I can get two or three images from one pattern, depending on how you cut your pattern. The rabbit was my first experiment and I was really pleased with it. The girl with the watering can and the witch were two others that worked out well. I have this thing about wasting wood and this works well for me.
  23. Amazon has a ton of Glow in the dark paint. You can also get it at Hobby Lobby, Joanns, Michaels and Walmart.
  24. Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
