  1. Thanks Mike, I have a bunch more to do.
  2. I totally forgot to post this when finished (almost). The fence hubby made from picket fence posts, same for the birdhouse fronts. The decorations on the BHF I did from wood in my shop. Then hubby requested I cut some large flowers to decorate the fence itself, So here is a couple of those done. I still have several more to cut out but this will give you an idea. Patterns are all from Pinterest. I will be doing a couple of Blue Jays and Cardinals.
  3. Hey Mike, you have now joined the McGyver group. Well done! lol
  4. You can also find Alex on Facebook. He posted there when he has new patterns.
  5. Oh Wow, Do those pins stay in forever or come out at some point? That looks really painful. I hope your foot heals quickly and with the least amount of pain.
  6. Hubby and I buy from Temu quite often. We have gotten some great deals. The nice part about Temu is when you buy from them in China you get free shipping/ If you buy Local then it is 2.99 shipping (still a deal). Returns are super easy.................there are none! All you have to do is tell them you are not happy with item and they issure you a refund and you don't need to send item back..............win-win. Also they give you a estimated time the package will arrive. If it does not arrive in that time limit, they *automatically * give you a 5.00 refund. I have not bought any wood yet but think I may give it a try and see what it's like. This company really goes out of its way to please their customers.
  7. Also, you can go to Youtube and ask your questions there. I bet there is a video showing how to adjust your saw.
  8. I use this all the time. You can also get it in a Satan finish, and I believe a semigloss. I use it on the do dads I make for the birdhouses plus I will spray the birdhouses also. It works well on wood, ceramic and I even use it on my cement garden statues.
  9. The riding between the poles is called *Pole Bending*. Kids are amazing. I had a little niece about that age that used to ride my horse in competition. Kids are pretty fearless, of course the horse has to be well trained. Mine would never go over a trot when she was riding him. Great babysitter! Now is the time to get a pattern of her riding her horse.
  10. Like many here I have cut a bunch of Steve's patterns. Every Christmas Steve would do Christmas Ornaments and add what name you wanted. A couple of years ago I was teasing Steve and told him that people don't just have cats and dogs as pets. I said I had Chickens and being the Smarty Pants, he was he made me a Chicken (rooster) Christmas Ornament and wouldn't charge me for it. He was just that kind of guy. Oh, how I will miss him. PS> with my vision be as it is I do very little cutting till after my cataract surgery,
  11. He's super cute. Great job.
  12. Oh what a shame. We will be here watching for your new shop information. Please stay safe, you and your family.
  13. Great find. Love the color on the board on the left. Have to laugh at the little lion...............I have the exact same one.
  14. Jerry, you can pick up a decent planer at Home Depot for under 300.00 and if you have military you can get 10 percent off that. This is what I bought my husband and he loves it. Says it works great for his needs. Just a thought.
  15. You just never know where you are going to find some great wood. I find pieces at yard sales, estates sales and thrift shops. What fun! Great repurpose! Love what you did with the wood.
  16. ?????? Picture maybe??
  17. Remember you can thin acrylic paint with water to give you a thinner paint. This can give you a stain like coverage or go a bit thicker for a overall coverage. I use a scrape of wood to apply the paint first to see how it covers and then go from there. Just keep practicing with different techniques you will find what works best for you.
  18. Both look really good. What paints are you using?
  19. Couple of suggestions. Unicorn Spit (read up on it) and Olympic wood stains. These might work for you. Olympic stains have a lot of great colors and this might be a good option.
  20. Beautiful Barb, Great choice of woods.
  21. I sent Patty an e-mail a few days ago. No response so far. I'm guessing she has her hands full taking care of Steve. Hopefully we will hear from her soon.
  22. When I am stuck inside because of the weather I make Holiday wreaths for our doors. The do dads around the wreath are cut on the scroll saw.
  23. The gnome is adorable. The portrait is outstanding. Thanks for sharing Don.
