The new saw arrived on Monday,Have it all set up now,when I first tried it it was cutting a bit vicious for me so had to rotate the motor to find that sweet spot.It is taking a bit of getting used to after my old saw ,the low speed of the new one is a lot faster than the low speed on my old saw.Oh well I will just have to practice to get it to do what I want,It is a beautiful saw though & am not sorry I bought it. Bit the bullet today & ordered a new saw ,a ex21 although down here it is labeled "General", a lot of expense $1100 In Aussie money My old saw was not holding a set speed for me & I was getting fed up with breaking blades trying to push them up through the holes,I think it was the constant bending that caused it.now I wont have to stand on my head to try & find the holes.It should be here in a couple of days so cant wait to set it up & have a whirl on it.Cheers Peter

  9. Must thank Grampa for this pattern from the Pattern Library.It is cut from 6mm Marine Ply & is A4 size cut with No3 skip tooth reverse blades.Cheers Peter.

  12. I give mine a going over with 400 grit wet & dry paper,clean off with mineral spirits & I also use talcum powder for the slide factor.

  14. No It is not closely related to the true oaks but is the largest of the grevillea family & is native of eastern coastal Australia & has golden -orange bottlebrush like Blooms
  15. Very nice Marg & what a good idea for the chip bags I usually use a cloths peg ,yours look much better & I see you like cheese & onion just like me.
  16. Made this for a family in Western Australia who's daughter has just graduated as a Dr of Science,she graduated yesterday & was presented this by her family.The timber is Australian Silky Oak & is finished with boiled linseed oil & is about 14'' long.

  20. I also use a black backer 80% of the time ,I find it makes it stand out much better & easier to read especially on the fine script ones.I also test by using different colours of paper,Dark blue also works well sometimes.Cheers Peter.
