  3. Welcome. I have been scrolling for some time and started in the village lNov.2013 . I have a de alt 788 and I love it had a little problem but the warrantee took care of it. It is a sweet running machine I have owned a dermal old type. Craftsman ( 15 years ) Then came a Porter piece of juk now the De Walt which is the best I ever owned. What ever you buy make sure it is for painless blades. and this is a good place to get any information you may need

  11. as I said before I use Olson's blades, I have used them since Heck was a pup and he is a very old dog. I have used there band Saw blades as well as scroll saw I buy them at a woodcraft store. Yester day they sent met a coupon for $10 off a $25 purchase sp I went and bought 7 packs a $30 purchase for $21 .
  12. WHAT DOES HESPEAK
  13. I bought a pack of them a couple of years ago. I used one didn't like it and discarded the rest of them. after that I recommend not to use box store blades. I like Olson's or FD
  14. I had a air pump used with my craftsman The bellows went out on it after I had it for about 5 years. This pump lasted me for about 15 years and it worked as well as the one that came on the saw. if you have a foot on/off control it would be easy to put in this with an extension cord like rig.

It sounds like you have your problem solved
  16. I have had blades last 5 minutes and others lasting several hours. you need to clear the saw dust and the speed and feed rate. after you have rn a scroll saw you can tell by the way the blade cuts , you may have to up the speed or lower it only experience will tell you this.

  20. I don't do many portraits and when I do I like a oak plywood. The grain does a lot for me. It's a little more expensive about $30 per sheet, but I think it looks real good. I use it for things I make especially for a craft sale. I like it.
  21. I have tried all types of spiral blades and can't do any thing with them. last spring I bought a bunch of blades in with some other stuff at a auction I have a pack of Olson blades here that has never been opened. My life is too short to mess with them any more I have been doing all right at the Craft sales with making what I want to make and use old School baldest to start now with mastering spiral blades.
  22. Nice cutting
  23. you are doing good just keep Scrolling.
  24. If you cut into a good area back out and continue on after you finish take some sawdust from the job mix it with modeling glue and fill in the saw mark let dry and sand down and no one will notice most of your mistakes are only noticed only by you
  25. I use google ( not chrome) and I have no problems and I am the worse spelller
