When I cut animal puzzles mostly Dogs I use a #5 on the ID cuts, #7 on the OD and for the letters I use a #3. But if I was just going to cut one I would use a #5 on ICD &OD and still use a #3 on the letters.

I use 5r Olson's on walnut and other hard woods . On dog puzzles I use #5r for the ID , #7 on the OD and a #3 r on the letters all Olson's blades. I am old school they have served me well and I don't care about trying other blades.

I used a scroll saw in shop classback in the late 50's and didn't go back to it untill the early 60's been doing it ever since Started out with an old saw( brand unknown) it used a pin type blades only thebn to a 16' Craaftmans for several years then to a 20" Craftman. Then to a Porter Cable which was the worse saw I ever had. Now i use a DW788. That is about 61 years and still learning .

The o;nlly time I would use jVinegar is when I glue with tight Bond Glue. That is the only way to loosen the glue on tight bone It just makes the glue plyable where you can separet But with that project is to make it oover again,
