  1. Like Larry says, it depends on the portrait. It can just be 4 easy cuts that take just a few minutes, or many cuts that take hours, from as pattern you spent time making. See below. I have used frames from the dollar store, and I grab them from wallyworld sometimes for 5 bucks. I think it makes the project look "finished" even if it's a cheapo frame. You can easily recoup the cost of the frame. Pete
  2. Nice job on both of these projects, both have some very fine detailing. Obviously not the work of a "newbie". Thanks for showing us your work. Pete
  3. Beautiful moose. Amazing how that tiger wood changes from "nothing special" to awesomely beautiful, when finished. Pete

  12. Made this for my daughter's best friend, who just had a baby. 1/8" BB combo of flats & spirals, my pattern. I didn't like the way the "8" turned out, but it's good enough. Yes her name is Myrtle... Pete
  13. Awesome job of cutting that pattern! Did you cut a few or did you have a sacrificial (throw away) piece underneath? Pete
  14. That is a beautiful bowl! I bought that book a while back but have yet to make anything from it. Pete

  23. That turned out plenty good! I use both, sometimes on the same project. For me, spirals take patience and a fast machine speed. Pete
