Kevin this is the finished piece all cut and glued to the back board and yes it was a bit crowded in the trailer as this took a lot of room.

  6. I've made my own stain on several occasions but never purple but I've used berries of different types so a blue or black berry may work for you I mashed them up in a blender and screened the the stems and skins and seeds out with a cloth then added plain rubbing alcohol I don't have the ratio anymore but the last time I just experimented with it One thing I did find was pine was really difficult as it has so much oil in it good luck. I may not been much help but I can tell you that it does work. .../Hans
  7. think Happy thoughts only Kevin your on a good path by cleaning and organizing your work area you'll enjoy going out there to work so much more. As far as your health, eat healthy get exercise and think happy and positive thoughts and last but not least don't let the doctors over medicate you, do your home work and find a doctor that will help to cure you not just treat the symptoms. I know its not easy but you can do it.
  8. I have one and wear it only when I have to do some staining other then that it takes up a spot on the wall next to the light switch. Mine is made of denim and i bought it many years ago from lee Valley
  9. nice work Dick it will be a hit forever.
  10. I find using a heat gun to warm up the painters tape works well but using mineral spirits is probably the best and cheapest.
  11. Hello Wayne its a matter of fact I've been thinking of raising my saw up more as I find it a bit low still I'm an upstanding kind of a guy, I just can't concentrate on the job when I sit.

  16. its a trailer Edward and its 24 x 81/2 feet my working area your looking at is about 8 x 10 there is a heater by the saw and a propane furnace in the centre of the trailer its quite cozy
  17. this shot is from the far end and shows my working area, the other end I'm going to keep for lumber storage for now. NOTE the heater by the saw?
  18. I'm getting so close to coming back to my scroll saw work its scary. I purchased this tiny place in Alberta and found there just was no room for my tools or for me to work, unlike Mexico where I just worked outside most the time. So I tossed the idea around for an addition on the house then a garage and a workshop etc etc well they all were way more then my budget would allow then I came up with this brilliant Idea why not pick up one of those portable offices/lunchroom /first aid shack so I browsed around and located one last week for a reasonably sum so I took delivery today now just get things organized and a little renovating and we'll be set. Note the table folds down into a bed, pretty well a must when you get accustomed to siestas as I am. the size is 8.5 feet x 24 feet. See you all soon.
