  6. Looks much better than my first project . Your getting the hang of it , Your profile don't say much ,so I couldn't gage your age ,but For all you show people ,a thought occured to me ,That feather reminded me of an object my mother had shaped similar ,I don't remember HOPE being part of it but would be appropriate quill was a little wider and a loop leather thong for her wrist , would make a antique Board of education ,that would sell well at shows ! Sorry fisherman not ,meaning to belittle or make fun of your project just an honest ,memory and thought I would pass along . and if your young enough and have kids, the display is a daily reminder in your home ,I know it worked at mine ! Keep posting ,sorry ,I guess I should not have posted this ,but ,I really meant no harm or joke .! zCarl

  14. Paul ,I have found that ,despite the cost ,I change blades as soon as it whispers or control changes ,I use a lot of cheap mbf ply. which has advantages and is tought on blades , but are cheaper and easier to get than BB and warps less 1/8" slips into cheap pre made frames . I love detail to and shelf paper liners ,sharp blades less fuzzy issues and with vac no problems That is a beautiful piece Enjoy seeing all you work !
  15. Kevin ,Heat up the tips of your favorite scroll saw blade ,bent 90 degrees and cut side ways ,or to a lesser degree and go straight back ! That's what this hill billy would try ! Carl ! l ,with extentions and two different blades should work !

It is the ultimate desire ,But ,some very Nasty people ,have other desires ,even here ! Your on the right path ,with the best intentions ,and make beautiful stuff ,But I hope you have a gun and this is a desire on your part and not your paper shield for you family ! Ray there are two previous posts showing side view and instructions ,It' an old model 10 variable speed 3/8" ,its probably 20 +yrs old .maybe 30 ,newer chucks I have checked do not close to zero so check ,pawns shops ,good will flea markets ,maybe ,I glued a tapered DIY mini flash lite holder aimed at the drill bit really helped ,really wanted a laser ,for now lite works good ! Has 14 1/2 "clearance up up 1 1/4" thick stock ,throat . so you could drill to center up to 29" love it , very handy rolls right up to my saw and cabinet or in the closet if I need the room! I can cut and drill without leaving my chair ,or roll my chair up to it .Yeah I am Lazy ! I worked real hard to be able to work easy now, when I need it ! I checked your profile ,your very Bashful ! Let me know what you end up doing ,for me it has been a long process of trail and error ,getting something that worked well and testing and modify. adjust ,and alter , to what you see today with out hampering the great saw or it's abilities ,been well worth the effort and minor expense .There have been over 1700 views of this dust collection post ,And over 4000 on other s on the subject, feed back and responses ,well you can see for your self ,Be nice to hear some feed back and see some more results !

Ike.!I'm Backwards as usual ,That's one of the biggest advantages to moving my saw and why I post and work in the cold weather and enjoy the weather out side ,when we have it .The prices I paid for that luxury have been well worth it for me ,my big shops get very limited use this time of year !
