I would re-think the hoses in the drawer idea ,concept unless used as sealed trap(chip collector trap w/ cleaning access and un-restricted airflow -no bends )could be a joint manifold Y configured ,for top and bottom joint ,vac joint out the back for hook up! (for portability ,and containment .flex ,seems to be critical ,especially top end ,to allow for swing out of the way to completely clear table.Dust, chips & particals want to separate and coagulate in there movement thru ,unlike liquid w/ equal forces all around .and require easy removal & periodically to clean out ,I just disconnect one end of both saw ends seal end of one and back vac top and bottom pick-ups ,works slick take 30 secs. listening to the saw and the sight of any dust remaining tells me when it is time ! Having camera issues may have to take pic with phone ,so quality may not be best ! simplified lite and mag again so you may notice differences ,I used a simple parascope apparatus to adjust upper pickup adjustment to keep table totally clean an unobstructed at all times ,whichs is why elevated upper arm configuration ,semi stationary and easily adjustable for stock height changes.Weight ,causing torque and pivot ease and wear as well as being keyed to always return to same place each time is important ,as anyone one using a swing mag lite can tell you what a pain that is . Two bolt s remove complete arm assemble .I have too goals 1st! and most important It MUST work .2nd The K.I.S.S. Principle too much condenation lead to more problems than they a worth .to be user friendly ! Now ,I have to do some jockieing and moving to get things to make some decent pix . Later Carl !

Mine ,talks to me ,it tells me the tension is not set correctly,if ,I do not heed the talk my blades starts to have a mind of it's own and wander and flex all kind of ways ,mine tells me if the vac pick up has a problem (something caught ) mine tells me when the blade needs changed ,even though it will still progress (but not really cut cleanly any more ) Dam thing is always comunicating ,through vibrations ,tone changes ,speed-ups ,slowdowns .it's always telling me something and always right before other issues unfold .I,m getting new hearing aids Wed, should help the early warning system the saw always sending out .And you thought you were nuts I call my saw STARMAN !

Ray !Thats an old rockwell ,Look up a post I did on the DIY deepthroat drill press .Hint ! for that you want a 1/4"chuck what ever you find The chuck has to be able to go down to close tight to hold small drill bits I use! 3/8" don't and you don't want to use an adaptor ,I just bought ,a new ION bat. 1/4" black and decker cordless drill ,for use of small bits and dremel bits for special occasions .It's a little sweetheart $29.95 ,I will see what I can do about the extra pix, anything special you want to be able to see ?

Congratulations ,as one old dog to another.I appreciate people who .take the time, actual interest and effort to post more than 10 word comments and inquiries w/some data related to the issue .Being I am a slow typer and poor speller , i have to spend a lot of time to get some info .across ,that I hope is understandable , A 30' x 18" $2.98 roll of vinyl shelf paper ,is my choice for several reasons ,10x's cheaper ,a very lite sand w/120 -sanding block a good dust off cut to fit top layer w/ shears ,hardest part is getting to separate from backing paper ,peel back half way -align smooth from center ,unroll rest smooth from center ,trim edges w/ razor blade if over . spray glue attach pattern ,method keeps entire pattern one pc and easy to remove ,If, you wood burn ,that pattern is reuseable and perfect for second use .lubes the blades ,here the plot thickens ,using vac dust free method ,I have no dust top or bottom ,but zero clearance bottom blade hole is not an option ,I have chip trap in line ,vac sucks small cut outs to trap ,vac has to have return air must have normal opening to get all dust ! It eliminates most of the issues you described ,plus over laps ragged ends ,non stick.wrinkles separation,I like you am always working to find what works best for you and if it helps some one else it's all gravy ,But I guess most are too busy to respond more than they do !

People are funny ,That pc. gets more attention and remembered more than any pc .I have ever done ,Interesting ,that and the pool ball puzzle and the pencil in the solid block of wood !

Now ! for the slick part at least in my view .with great care ,and the finest blade ,you can take a miniture animal or even a shoe ,cut it in half and you have a pair of ear rings . Or decorations for any number of things from picture frames to ,I painted one black w/white trim ,and labeled it ,Dad's Baby Shoe ,back when bronze baby shoes were in Vogue ! Doesn't take much to amuse me !! LOL ! Along with my sign that says (DOESN'T Play Well ,with OTHERS !

Ray !, The wood coming from the source you mentioned ,may have had some thing either soaked in it or on it beside the wood it self 'been there done that,may be the reason you were effected so quickly.just a guess on my part, mine is 99.45% DIY dust free, all sealed vac. most use fans w/furnace filters on the intake side others use a mix ,some just use fans ,shop condition and yours dictate what is exceptable to you .Masks are recommended ,Good one are expensive ,hot ,bulky ,and restrictive but are best for toxic wood and the allergic .How much you saw and ,where is a big part of the answer .the Harsh truth is it's the micro-fines and the toxics that do the damage ,good ventalation helps so much winter in cold clims a major issue . Mag lights are great on details ,biggest issue for me has always been positioning so it was easy to get out of the way in between usages and still handy to use ,position, position ,finally ,I have it right for ME! Every thing is personally fitted to you , enough space ,enough lite ,enough comfort ,so you can operate your way !

Some of both ,usually cut out thick and split ,too hard to match otherwise ,like turtles ,or fish you can make 3-4 pairs and split some less than 1/8" thick ,electric eraser and tooth brush after dremel works real good .flex sand paper and velcro tabs work well and are very gentle . samples disappear around here even my tiny work boots disappear ,I'll look I may have an extra large still here ! Patterns ,made up from catalogue pic.s of small things that strike my fancy at the time ,I'll look around ,and see what I still have

Here's some things to make some one happy when you think your out of wood ,ear rings ,I have make all kinds of animals ,beavers , turtles ,stars ,hearts ,and these my wife stole these as soon as they were done so I could not give them away !

I think it got reaped !

Shelf paper under glued pattern ,no seams no gaps ,no bumps or ripples ,cheaper and pattern removes in one pc. ,hot glue edges w/ wiggle ,tape to bundle 3-d & reinforcements when needed !

They can be the truest. faithful friend you ever had ! I know mine is !
