The spray you have should work fine, I would imagine. Two things for you to do if you are going to use this item. First..sand your board well and clean all sawdust off of it. Most scrollers like to then cover the board with blue painters tape. Then take the spray button off the top of your can and immerse it in paint remover or mineral spirits for about 30 seconds. remove spray button and wipe it clean. Replace it on the can, (make sure you have the spray button facing away from you when you replace it) Shake your can and then point it at a waste basket or piece of scrap cardboard and give is a couple of squirts. This should return your spray to like new. Then spray the back of you pattern with a couple of light passes. You do not want too much glue on the pattern. Let sit 45 seconds of a little more and apply it you the blue painters tape of your chosen wood for your project. I hope this helps you Dick heppnerguy

I don't think I am at that level of workmanship. I think I do have an intarsia turtle pattern that I might get to one of these days.

This is another intarsia effort that my daughter ask me to make for her. She used the flower and an intarsia piece she added to a wooden box she made and it sold right away for her. she is a good woodworker but still manages to like what I make and has several of my pieces. Her woodworking ability far exceeds mine but I guess it is just having things that her 'Old Dad' made. This is made from four different woods and I do not even know what most of them are. Woods I had on my supply shelf. I love making things for her because she treasures them more then they deserve. Dick heppnerguy

As you know, I have always admired your boxes and inlays. This is the first time I recall seeing you use a different base wood, other then Cedar. Why have you chosen to change at this point in time. I feel like you about Halloween but these are truly fun little characters and as you have proven, worth the cut. They look really great and I think they would made nice gifts to family members that do decorate some, for Halloween, especially if they have small children Dick heppnerguy

I was lucky enough to see it first hand at Paul's house when I visited him about a month ago. His work is amazing and he is the one person that challenges me all the time, without him really knowing it. I marvel at his work and continue to admire what he does, every time I go to his house for a visit. I do not understand how he can do things so perfectly but it inspires me to try a little harder to do better work. I have come to the conclusion that Paul is just way too talented for me to even think I could ever do anything that could possibly ever match his ability, but I can always improve my own skills with more effort. I have made some improvements because of knowing Paul but I have a long way to go to ever be able to consider myself as anything but a mediocre scroller, at best. I still love scrolling and do not see that I will give up that pleasure, until my body says, 'no more". I do have to say that after seeing this first hand the photo does not even come close to showing the superb quality of this piece of work. Congratulations Paul on another job superbly well done. More than being able to see and admire Paul's skills is my thankfulness that I have him as a wonderful friend. I cherish his friendship and we share together each summer when we get to see each other. I am thankful that I am a member of Scrollsaw Village where I have personally met some really great people and for all of you that I feel like I personally know, but have never met, face to face. Glad to see you have made it back after 9 years. That is a long time to be away. You patterns look a little on the challenging side but also the results will be worth the time and effort to cut. I was not here in The Village that long ago but I am always happier when I see someone return to scrolling after having done it before. I have to agree with Paul on your progress in such a short time. You reminds me of Dave Moon, he blossomed over night and in a short time was turning out some of the nicest pieces in The Village. Keep up the nice work Dick heppnerguy
