  1. A great idea and a really nice job on your part. I love the ideas that pour from all over the Village.. So glad you posted it Dick heppnerguy
  2. I have cut a couple of these compound signs. Yours are really great. they are fun to design and cut so I guess after seeing yours. I need to add a few more to my list of cuts to do. Thanks for posting Dick heppnerguy
  3. Peter, I am not into wooden toys but this is not a toy, this is a true piece of art. Very nicely done... I would to have that one on my shelf any day Dick heppnerguy
  4. You are just too modest, Paul. You are about as good with spiral as anyone out there. I have seen so many amazing things you have cut with your spiral blades and because of your expertise, I am trying to do my work better. I know I will never reach the expertise that you have but don't slack off or, who knows, why down the road I may get just a little closer to being able to cut some of the things you have in your box in your basement.………. You are right, I never will get that good Dick heppnerguy
  5. I am indeed, Paul. Dick heppnerguy
  6. Marg, I love your idea about putting the ring in it. On my previous project I added mountains in the background and I think it too added something special and appealing to it. I am going to try and remember to make an effort to do that more often.. Also it makes the piece have a little more personality, if you know what I mean Dick heppnerguy
  7. It is a simple to cut pattern and nothing to be bragging about.. I just need to post the little bit I have been cutting just to let everyone here that I am still alive and continuing to work a little in my shop.. the problem is,,,, I still have not gotten my air conditioner up and running in my shop..The temperatures have been in the 106 to 115 degrees and even with a fan and a wet t--shirt, it is still pretty warm in my shop to work very long at a time.. Dick heppnerguy
  8. I love your work. I always enjoy seeing where you have posted something new. You have a good eye for picking the more interesting patterns to cut. Dick heppnerguy
  9. My younger son is big into racing and is also a flagger on the race tracks for several kinds of races. He just started this year and will be doing his for formula 1 race soon. He is so excited about it. I have also seen some of your other racecar plaques and I will be showing them to him, as I know he will love looking at them Dick heppnerguy
  10. Great idea.. the music teachers will surely be placing these where all students can enjoy them. Dick heppnerguy
  11. Ralph, What a nice piece, You know this will be something that the family will pass on to future generations Dick heppnerguy
  12. I did a couple of the sewing ones.. they were well received. You did a swell job on everything.. thanks for posting Dick heppnerguy
  13. Both are really nicely done.. I love the Pangolin. I just saw a video on the public TV about them. First time I had heard of them. They are being slaughtered for some kind of medic value in their scales, if I remember correctly. It is all about the money and no care about the animal's lives. Stupid humans. Is this pattern available somewhere, I think I would like to cut one of them also Dick heppnerguy
  14. They just keep getting better. Love all of these Dick heppnerguy
  15. This marriage has been looming in the works for a couple of years and they finally decided the time was NOW. Since they had been a couple for maybe a total of 4 years, I was content to just have the feeling of "It's about time". I was told a couple of months after the announcement that she was disappointed to not had this traditional "she said yes" plaque that I had made and given to everyone else. I told her that I was just so excited that the time was FINALLY here that all I thought about was the upcoming wedding. I did promise to make them one. The husband to be is Hannah's brother. Hannah is the girl I made the 'HITCHEN UP" plaque for, that I posted yesterday. This is a pretty ordinary piece but it means a lot to the people it is made for, so I thought I would post it anyway. Dick heppnerguy
  16. Thank you everyone for the nice words and support. It was what I thought to be such a fitting plaque for this couple and the timing for Sam to post it was perfect for this occasion. Dick heppnerguy
  17. My granddaughter is getting married in November. Both her and her husband to be are professional horse people. My granddaughter buys, sells, breaks. trains and sells horses. Her husband to be, is a professional roper and cowboy, he works as a ranch hand, taking care of miles of fences and herds a very large amount of cattle. So my thanks goes to Sam Custodio for his great pattern and for allowing me to alter it for this special occasion. Dick heppnerguy
  18. Welcome.. So glad you found us and decided to join up. I too am or was an Oregonian for many years,, I was born in Tillamook and grew up in Portland, lived 35 years in Tigard and moved to Heppner. While living there I met Paul, (Scrappile) and we became good friends. Paul is a really gifted and talented scroller and a good person to know, personally. A year ago we moved to Casa Grande, Arizona and go back to Oregon a couple of times a year to visit friends and family. Hope you enjoy participating here in The Village. Dick heppnerguy

  20. Great job.... You sure covered a lot of ground with these signs... I love to design and cut this kind of sign also. I don't usually post me work art and usually make them for special occasions as a gift or from a request. Impressive batch ….. so glad you post yours Dick heppnerguy
  21. I also just used a piece of wood to cut a cross that I was not too sure about. It was a veneered ply but the veneer was really thin. I had to give it a try anyway. I was lucky and only lost a couple of really small pieces of veneer so It will work but I will only use it for backer board from now on. Sorry you had this problem Dick heppnerguy
  22. I love this little guy.. I have done a couple of whittling things and they were fun and interesting to do. I am also thinking about trying it once again.. Love seeing you have so much fun at new things Dick heppnerguy
  23. you funny guy you.. fun sign.. well done too, by the way Dick heppnerguy
  24. Very nice pieces.. I can see why they sold for you... Dick heppnerguy
  25. I love these pattern too.. They just use too much wood for my liking. but maybe some day if I find someone that really wants one. They are quite attractive but a little spendy on my budget Dick heppnerguy
