  2. Peter, What a nice Harley pattern. Your work is always top notch and it continues to show with this piece. Thanks for sharing . I enjoyed it a lot Dick heppnerguy
  3. i told you I have a few pieces in the making and I also have shortened my time in the shop so I could spend more time with my wife. But I had to cut the skeleton on the bike for the Halloween challenge and I cut the Indy Car for my son who loves racing and also does some racing himself. You all know how it is,, You see that perfect pattern for someone or something and you have to cut it no matter what Dick heppnerguy
  4. It is indeed a great pattern. I have also sold and given several of these as gifts. One of my favorite christmas patterns. You did a great job with this. Dick heppnerguy
  5. Those are really nice, John... Still planning on coming and visiting with you.. Just have to find the free time..Things are a little crazy since we moved here Dick heppnerguy
  6. I hope you are planning on giving those to the drivers of those cars as no one will cherish them more then they will. You can count on those being displayed for many, many years. Nice job Dick heppnerguy
  7. Nicely done. I too have been eyeballing that pattern. How could one resist cutting it if they had viewed the classic silent film? So glad to see someone else interested in cutting it. Nice cut,,,nice pattern. Dick heppnerguy
  8. A really fun piece. I bet you get comments every time someone sees it. A true eye catcher Dick heppnerguy
  9. Extremely well cut and finished.. Love them both.. I am going to assume that you are a spiral blade cutter. Dick heppnerguy
  10. when I saw this pattern, I knew it had to be one I would cut for this thread. It had everything I was hoping to find. A few delicate cuts but I did intentionally not cut a couple of spots because I did not have the drill bit I thought I needed to make the hole stand out. so here is my entry. Many thanks to Janevski for the great pattern Dick heppnerguy
  11. I down loaded a pattern to cut, hopefully tomorrow Dick heppnerguy
  12. one never wants to go cheap on shelving unless one enjoys picking up everything that used to be stored on them the day before.. These look like they will never give you any unexpected surprises Dick heppnerguy
  13. An extremely interesting piece of wood. A picture in itself. Dick heppnerguy
  14. I still struggle with cutting picture frames so i would not even consider cutting crown.. I hesitate too much, I think. How can one learn if one is afraid to try?? Dick heppnerguy
  15. I think you may have overlooked what Jerry was suggesting..it is not that he wants to cut the outside perfectly when he is doing the outside cutting but rather it is about he knobs he is cutting in place so that he has an easier grip that will not slip on him as he works on the inside of the piece. After finishing the inside cuts he then finishes cutting the outside on the frame at the line and at the same time, removing the knobs he intentionally put in place for the added grip Dick heppnerguy
  16. sometimes instead of turning the piece to finish a cut only find that the wood will not make the turn do to saw size limitations, you just have to make part of the cut going from one side of the cut and then finishing the cut re-starting from the opposite direction and completing the same cut. Not sure you understand this explanation or not but when first started scrolling I cut a peacock that was about 24 inches long and that was the only way I could get it done without a spiral blade Dick heppnerguy
  17. Back pain is really tough to deal with. I am noticing more and more that I can no longer sit at my saw as before but then........I also have a lot of things going on in my life and shop time is no longer the only thing i seem to look forward to. Dick heppnerguy
  18. I always heed your advice, Paul. After all, who cuts better then you? I know......that is why I listen when you speak Dick heppnerguy
  19. I made a magazine holder similar to the one in the photo. I put it in the fair when i made it and got my first blue ribbon. My wife hauled to Arizona when we moved but now that I think about it, I do not believe that I have seen it in our new home. what the heck? must be in one of the garages. Newspapers. hand written letters and magazines are going out, for the most part. The mail will continue because of all the on line buying trends of today and how else could I get the on line buying catalogs and people asking for my donations almost every day? Dick heppnerguy
  20. like the shadow on the house.. Hey check your camera setting on your phone. It appears to me to be set on sepia, I believe it is called. Dick heppnerguy
  21. very cool idea with the hat and all the color going on here.. love it...not familiar with the magazine. will try and find it. I had some of my work put in Scollsaw Woodworking and craft magazine, but certainly not on the cover. What an honor.... Dick heppnerguy

  25. I have been busy with my move, traveling and trying to stay out of my shop more then when I was in Heppner. But I have been working on four different projects so it has taken me time to get around to finishing them in a timely manner. I have however completed two of them today. One is for my grandson who is a captain in special forces in North Carolina and the other is for our church fund raiser silent auction where they will be paying off a debt they have had for awhile to build a school. This year they will be making the final payment and since we are new to Casa Grande, Arizona, I decided to make a little intarsia angle for the auction. I choose a pattern that I purchased several years ago and I have used it mainly to give to people that are either ill with a serious problem or just need something that I hoped would comfort them in a small way, knowing someone is praying and cares for them. So I modified the Judy Roberts angle pattern a little because I wanted to see what it would look like in a little different way and I cut a pattern of whom I can not recall the maker of the pattern, but I thought my grandson would like it as he just is finishing up his Special Forces training.
