I have to say that I love your patterns and I know I will be purchasing and cutting some of them in the near future. I started this year to push my cutting abilities and started to cut more detailed pattern, of which I enjoy a lot. This coming year I will be exploring pattern making and see what I can do in that field. I am very interested in learning portrait pattern making, of which I have attempted 2 so far and I am pretty happy with the results. I hope you take the time to visit The Village often so we all can get to know you better. Dick heppnerguy

  13. Welcome to The Village. We are all very happy that you found us we are a group of very friendly, helpfully and happy family here. Please take the time to check out everything we have to offer you, from free patterns for you to download and cut for free to help with a pattern you might like to cut but not know how to make. Oh, by the way there are free tutorials on how to make patterns in the 'university forum. I see you live close to Fayetteville and there is a restaurant there named , "Fayetteville Pie Company". They are only open for lunch and they serve very creative lunch pies like pot pies as well as a large array of sweet desert pies. I made a wood plaque of their logo for them and my granddaughter works for them as a waitress. Drop in and have lunch next time you are in Fayetteville and tell them Hello for me Dick Heppner guy

    Hello

I think a garage door lube might be a good spray lube for your saw. It is not expensive but does a job on the boggest moving part of your house. It is quite superior to WD40 as a lube. It is easily found at the big box stores or any hardware store. You might give it a try Dick Heppner guy
  15. I love your box. Staining the piece after it is already put together much be quite the task. The detail of this box is outstanding in my opinion. I also really like the bevel on the lid Dick heppnerguy
  16. nice job all the way around. I too like trains.. I think it was all the time I spend at the tracks playing on the parked trains and always watching when an old coal fired giant went down the tracks with all it's noises and smoke...Still wish they were around Dick heppnerguy
  17. some drill bits smaller than 1/16,.if you are into fret work. Some blade holders. I find one of my most used tools it a small awl for opening the drilled holes on the back side when needed and to help push out small pieces of fret. A spray booth,. could be a large cardboard box, really good lighting (very important) and a 2 way audio communications device if your shop is away from the house so you don't miss dinner Dick heppnerguy
  18. I love it when someone decides to take on a pattern that takes this much time. They are always worth the effort when finished... Very nicely done... Dick heppnerguy
  19. I stripped the threads on my saw the same way, a few years ago and I always try to discourage people from making and using the adaptors for that very reason.. Dick heppnerguy
  20. It is extra fun when you get a recognition of this kind.... I had that feeling when I made the Scroll magazines with my wedding boxes, last year.. You must have had a great booth Dick heppnerguy
  21. You received some really nice Canadian welcomes as well as some from the other side of the continent. And we Americans are also chimbing in. I am one more American that belongs to our world wide family that is here to welcome you to The Village. Hope you visit here often Dick heppnerguy
  22. I also share my shop with my daughter who just happens to be 50 years old and already forgot more about woodworking than I ever will know, however, I have found that even after 10 years of scrolling, I am still in the learning process aseven though I have been scrolling for almost 10 years, there is so much talent shared here that I find I am always finding out something new constantly. One thing you need to know.. The big box stores are not the place to buy your blades. They simply do not carry the blades you will need. Because you still have time before you get your saw, ask about the blades you will need and you will find several suggestions will follow in the matter of minutes. Glad you are not letting your daughter use the band saw any longer as how could you ever forgive yourself if she were to loose a finger or two? Dick heppnerguy
  23. Welcome aboard. First of all int to thank you for all your years serving the people of your community. You will indeed enjoy your retirement as you go about exploring your skills with the scroll saw. Tell us what saw you purchased and also feel free to explore all the nooks and crannies on this sigh. There is so much to discover. Be sure and log on often so we all can get to know you and you us Dick heppnerguy
  24. Glad you found our world Wide family and made the decision to join us. This is a great place ton hang out and exchange ideas and protects with one another. A big welcome from Eastern Oregon. Be sure and log on often to get the most from this sight Dick heppnerguy
  25. r The rack was sitting outside our local lumber yard and had previously been used for one of their displays. My daughter asked if they were interested in selling it and they told her she could have it for $20 so she took it.. Since I had not done a craft sale before, I did not know if it would be useful or a deterrent. We had way too many items for a good displayed so this added some otherwise wasted space it turned out to be a nice and needed addition. All the shelves can be tilted to any angle so it's versatility helped. I guess It was worth the $20. Dick heppnerguy
