  1. I don't think I will be getting any pie as they are in North Carolina and I am in Oregon... but what the heck, I probably am better off without pie anyway.. ha ha Dick heppnerguy
  2. Funny guy, Larry. I think I see a pun there. Dick heppnerguy
  3. I made of sign of their logo and sent it to them. they got it this morning and immediately hung it up on the restaurant wall. They did not have a hammer so they used one of their rolling pins to pound in the nail. It was so fun to see the photos of it on the wall so I thought I would share it with all of you Dick heppnerguy
  4. Nice puzzles, cut with excellent control. I have never made a stand alone puzzle. It might be fun to do one and see if I get any reaction from them. I too think the horse is exceptionally nice. Not just the wood but also the realist looking pattern Dick heppnerguy
  5. Not an animal that lives near out house so I would not expect it to sell here, but I do have to say that you did a great job cutting and finishing it. I, personally like the pattern and I would hang it on my own wall, so that tells me, if I like it, I guess someone else might also, even if it is not an animal found here Dick heppnerguy
  6. Kevin, I would like to see you getting a steady income from your work. You are a one man, never stop factory of scrolling. Good luck with your new venture and let us know how thing go for you Dick heppnerguy
  7. Very impressive, my friend. You have a couple of really great pieces. We need to get together again soon and have lunch again. We have not been your way for awhile but really should do that soon. Dick heppnerguy
  8. Nice review. I saw this saw advertised on the new Wood Crafters pamphlet. It was for sale at just under $900. It sure looks like a good saw it sounds like a good choice for you, for sure. Thanks for taking the time to make such a great observation of the Jet Scrollsaw. I am sure it will be helpful to many others who might be eyeing one of these saws Dick heppnerguy
  9. Actually, I made an effort to meet Travis when he moved from Montana to Portland, Oregon.. He agreed to my request and I had lunch with him where he told me that I was the only person on Scrollsaw Village that he had actually met in person. That was two years ago. Since then I have made an effort to meet three other SSV members. So I feel particularly connected here. My daughter and I will make more effort tomorrow to see if we can get her on here. She is doing her third piece of intarsia now and she should have it finished in a couple of days. I think it will be fun for her to start to get connected here too. I am so glad to see how quickly you have become a regular. I try to stress the importance to post often so one can get familiar with the already regular posting members and the results are that one will feel like family. I am sure that you have already achieved that familiararity here. Dick heppnerguy
  10. you did a fine job with this one. Often the veining is very tough to pull off. This one came out great.. Keep up the good work Dick heppnerguy
  11. Thank you for the information. i am very familiar with JGR sight and work. I have made several of her patterns. I just do not recall seeing this particular pattern before... She has so many. My daughter is starting her third piece of intarsia as I write this. I expect you will be seeing some really nice work from her. For some reason she can not get confirmed for this page and I will have to go to work on that with her tomorrow Dick
  12. Fabulous piece you did such a niche job on it. This one will hang with pride for all who are lucky enough to see it Dick heppnerguy
  13. This piece sort of some up how everyone is feeling about the heat this summer Dick heppnerguy
  14. A cute pattern that I also have in my pattern library but never got around to cutting it. Yours certainly came out nicely. Dick heppnerguy
  15. I still have to say that making a wooden portrait of someone still seems totally amazing to me. I love them, and your came out really nice Dick heppnerguy
  16. Nicely done intarsia piece. The off set Heights of the two birds does present a little bit of a quandary when it is time to hang. Maybe someone smarter than me, ( and that is just about anyone ), just might have the answer for this problem. Who's pattern is this? I do not recall seeing it before Dick heppnerguy
  17. Had to laugh at the first piece. I know that feeling too well. Your work is admirable and thanks so much for sharing it with us all Dick heppnerguy
  18. Go to the top of this page and to the right of the 'Forum' tab a couple of spaces you will see a tab marked 'articles'. Click on it and you will find the information that will lead you to some tutorials that you are after Dick heppnerguy
  19. I know, Ralph, Tennessee is a long way away and I will never be able to make that trip, but wouldn't it be great to be able to work with a pro and learn something you could use the rest of your life? Hey, have you been working on that new Leath of yours, lately. I don't recall anything new from it for some time. Maybe you need to go fire it up soon Dick heppnerguy
  20. Nice move. And it looks like you will have some pretty good lighting too. Can't beat that with a stick Dick heppnerguy
  21. I wish I had your skill and talents. Wow a custom frame store. I need to come work for you for free just to learn how to make a decent frame. Dick heppnerguy
  22. It was the auto correction that placed that word there. It should reach veneer. Not Vanderbilt. Ha ha. I missed that Dick heppnerguy
  23. As you can tell, I am NOT a frame maker by any stretch of the imagination, but when the boss speaks, I jump. So I went to the shop and did my best to come up with a frame for this one. I guess I will just need to make a presentation to my bride before I post something here. If it needs a frame I will just have to go out to the shop and attempt to make one. I have to admit, even with the shabby frame I made, it does look more finished with one. Who knows, if I keep having to make frames, eventually I might catch on how to do that. Time will tell Dick heppnerguy
  24. My goodness I bet you didn't realize how important you are to our world wide family. That is quite the welcome back. I too am glad to see that you have everything hing up and running again. You must have a lot of posts to catch up on. Welcome home Dick heppnerguy
  25. I have been looking for a Southwest pattern for my son and his wife who just recently moved to Arizona. His wife does not care for my wood working things, very much but I am in hopes they might find a spot in their cabana for this one. I did this one a little differently than any I have done before. I placed a piece of veneer behind the main piece and then I added a black backer board after that. I cut it from 1/4 inch BB plyusing a spiral saw again. It was a quick project and I liked the way it turned out. Oh by the way, this is a Sue Mey pattern. I forgot to post that info. Dick heppnerguy
