  1. Jack, she has it up now and she says she really likes it. Nice seeing you again. I do not think we have spoken for a long time. I hope all is going well with you. Thanks for the nice comment on my new piece Dick heppnerguy
  2. Thanks Len. I always appreciate your comments Dick heppnerguy
  3. Thanks Paul for the assist. I hope everyone can figure it out now Dick Heppnerguy
  4. Dave, I would indeed. The fun thing was I got mine for a trade of my previous purchase of a $550 motorcycle along with an additional $200. The bike was a 58 Ariel scrambler. The year was 1961 when I made the trade. I thought it a really good deal at the time and still do to this day Dick heppnerguy
  5. Mike, I wish to welcome you here too. I have a good friend here in the village that goes by,"Scrappile". He has a beautiful talent for cutting intriquet patterns, and not too long ago I ran across your patterns and immediately thought of my friend. I just knew he would be interested in your patterns. I sent him an email only to find out he was already familiar with your work and had cut several of your a o patterns already. Since then I have been venturing out and pushing my envelope and trying my luck at more difficult patterns and now it is my turn to give some of yours a try. I am so glad you came on board her as The Village is full of wonderful and caring people. I hope you find time to maybe even share a couple of your easier patterns for some of us to try Dick heppnerguy
  6. I would like to join the others and welcome you to the Village. Thank you for posting some of your previous work. It is easy to see that you pride yourself and take the time to get it right. Be sure and check in often and if you do that you will quickly learn that the people here are very friendly and love meeting new members. Any questions you may have will be answered in short order because we all care about you and each other and enjoy helping one another when ever the need should arrive, Dick heppnerguy
  7. Ralph, If it was all about selling these, I think making them and taking them to car shows would be a great money maker, But I made this primarily for myself to enjoy. That is a good idea though. Perhaps you should jump on it yourself and make some easy pocket money. A fun idea, for sure. Dick Heppnerguy
  8. Yes, Paul, we were indeed the lucky ones to live in that era. You had to be there to understand why. Looking back on it without having lived in It,simply does not give one the understanding of wh it was such a great time..it will be forever imbedded in our minds, that I am sure of Dick heppnerguy
  9. I agree with you,Steve. It was indeed one of the best years in my opinion too. Dick heppnerguy
  10. These simple patterns are fun to cut because they only take a little while to do. I cut this one before church this morning just because I liked the memories it gave me. I love Steve Good's patterns because they don't take much skill and he does such a nice job with his patterns and helps so many others get interested in scrolling. Thanks for the nice comments, but this is just a quick cut and enjoy piece. I believe it is one of the best 57 Chevy pattern I have seen. I really like the way Steve got the details without over doing its Dick heppnerguy
  11. I posted it on myself IPad and it always comes up the correct way on it. I guess I will have to do all my posting on my computer from now on Dick heppnerguy
  12. I saw this one on Steve Good's sight this morning and I had to run cut one, as it is a car we owned when we were married I simplified the pattern some because I did not want the name on the plaque nor the base. I still need to put the finish on it Dick heppnerguy
  13. I was in the middle of this post and got into something else and shut off the IPad before it was finishing the post and the photo was not uploaded. I thought the entire post did not make it . I was surprised to see this post, myself. Maybe I can delete it Dick heppnerguy
  14. Thank you Steve. It was a nice pattern to work with and somewhat challenging for me. I have to say that I am pretty happy with the outcome even though it still could be better than it is. I keep trying to improve Dick heppnerguy
  15. Thank you. It was fun to take a little more time with my projects and push my personal envelope some. It was because of the wonderful things you have been making and the care I see in your work that has given me the desire to do better with my things and put more pride from beginning to end. I AM STILL a long way from achieving my goal and I may never reach it, but trying to, makes me feel better about my efforts. Thank you, Paul, for the person you are. Dick heppnerguy
  16. My wife said she wanted this one for fall to replace her summer one, so I got off my duff and got it finished for her. I used several different woods for this one but I do not know my woods all that well but I do know I enjoyed the outcome of colors. PS. sorry for the sideways photo Dick heppnerguy
  17. this original post got sent without the photo. So I deleted this post but left this so anyone reading this might understand what is going on. I reposted with the photo . Thank you for understanding this old man,s error Dick heppnerguy
  18. We have a lot of horse people in my family so this one will get some attention when the receiver opens this one. I used a number 2 spiral blade on this one. It was cut on1/8 inch BB Ply. I used a old 2/4 timber to make the frame. Dick heppnerguy
  19. A really fun piece. I bet you will get a lot of comments on this one when you put it in your yard. Great job Dick heppnerguy
  20. Todd, You did a fabulous job on this one. I don't see how it could be any better than this. If it was in color I would think it was a photo Dick heppnerguy
  21. A really cool carriage. Very nicely done. The details are eye catching to say the least. Will be fun to display for others to enjoy. Dick heppnerguy
  22. Merlin, I love the idea of making useful items and something as unique S these should not only be fun to own and use but also fun to show to others as well. They are very nice pieces. Well done and glad you posted them for us to enjoy too Dick heppnerguy
  23. Peter, I think you will be changing your mind about cutting another after you see the reaction of so many who see it. The ones that take a lot of ones time are the ones that make you proud of yourself and the ones that make the extra time so worth it. It came out beautiful and well worth all the time you put onto it. I would wager that I will see another posted by you once some time goes by and the paint goes away Dick Heppnerguy
  24. This is my pattern attempt. I cut this with a number one and a number two flat end scroll saw blade. I actually was not able to get the eyes cut right as I cut it smaller than I made the pattern for. I needed a size 0/3 spiral blade and I do not have any of those yet. I have to thank Paul, (Scrappile) for the encouragement he gave me to use spirals with his continual cutting and posting t he delicate and beautifully done pieces that he posts one after another. I am still attempting to learn how to make frames, with a long ways to go if I am to succeed with them, but I think it will be worth the effort if I ever figure all this out. I will post my pattern after I go check out exactly how to do that. Dick heppnerguy
  25. Here is support for using a pattern glued directly to the wood. This is a pretty good example of a couple of pieces I cut yesterday, using that method. After the cut was finished, I lightly covered it with a thin coat of mineral spirits and waited 15 second and my pattern nearly fell off on its own without ant residue left on the wood. This is why I do not use painters tape any longer. My question would but "why would I want to? Dick heppnerguy
