  1. Len, This is a"try and learn thing" for me. I believe that I need to be as prepared as possible. If this one sells I think I need to make back Ups of everything. If something appeals to people and you don't have a back up, that equates to loss sales. At least that is the way I see it Dick heppnerguy
  2. sorry Jerry, But when we get as old as me, we spend a lot of time lying down, so I thought it would help.. Actually, I did what I said I would not do and I posted with my Ipad. Everything came out ok on it but not on the computer Dick heppnerguy
  3. I see the use of 0/3 spiral blades used for this one Dick heppnerguy
  4. Paul, This is going to be a really beautiful piece. I would like to try this one myself, some day. Can't wait to see it when you finish it..You and Patti should come to Heppner soon.. hint hint Dick heppnerguy
  5. Check the post above. Dick heppnerguy
  6. I went ahead today and made myself a reindeer pattern and cut it just to see if I could do it. It doesn't look too bad but I do not plan on making any more of them. I will send this one to my grand daughter if she wants it.
  7. I believe I got this pattern from Steve Good's page. We have a lot of western minded people here in Heppner so I thought I would cut it and offer it for sale on our local classifieds. I found this to be a delightful piece to look at and could not resist giving it a try. My daughter, Theresa did the finish work on it for me. Dick heppnerguy
  8. I am contomplating adding this one to the craft show collection of items I am making. I, personally like this one but not sure if I should include it as it really is an Easter item, (notice the nail holes in his hands). What do you think, yeh or ney? Dick heppnerguy
  9. very nicely done. Your work looks perfect. I am certain he will be thrilled to receive it and show it to his envious Marine friends. Send him a price for the other marines that are going to ask for one.. Don't forget to add on to your price, postage.. Dick heppnerguy
  10. Eagle fans would flock to get one of these for themselves Dick heppnerguy
  11. I love this pattern too and like others I plan on cutting it in the future but your wood really sets it off well. Love the entire job Dick heppernguy
  12. Here is another piece that we are going to take to our craft show. I am sure this one should do well. I am making several of each pattern and then finding out what people are attracted to. I am pretty sure this one should work well. It is a pattern submitted my "Phantom Scroller", our friend Roly. Thank you allowing me to use your pattern as my daughter and I give this craft show thing a try. Dick heppnerguy
  13. The "fuzzier can be a problem for strollers and can make that part of the finishing a real pain, but a necessary thing t do for a nice piece in the end a lot of people tackle this in a lot of different ways. Some may use the scroll sanders you are asking about. Some may use their orbital sanders while others burn them off with small torches. Still other use a stiff brush or a careful and tedious hand sanding. I too am interested is hearing how these scroll sander might work for you Dick heppnerguy

  15. Love this one. Just might be one I will need to add to my cross patterns yours looks great it is truly a nice piece that is well cut and very attractive Dick heppnerguy
  16. Looks like a winner to me...I doubt that I would have thougth of it, but I guarantee you, if I were to want to dismantle a pallet, I would do it this way.. Thanks for the good tip Dick heppnerguy
  17. I only have wheels on my table saw and they are also as Jim suggested Dick heppnerguy
  18. I have never used a primer n anything that i have painted, but there has been a couple of times that I wondered it maybe I should have.. boy, I am not much help here, am I? Dick heppnerguy
  19. No, I did not need to worry about it breaking or falling apart as I cut it with 1/4 inch BB Ply. Had it been 1/8 inch thick, I may have stack cut it. Not really sure about that even Dick heppnerguy
  20. I can't remember where I got this pattern, could have easily been here in The Village. Though it is a simple pattern, I really liked it so I just had to cut it. I will include this in our craft show when my daughter gets the finish on it Dick heppnerguy
  21. Welcome to The Village. I have not had a chance to view any of your work but I have to say that I am very interested in doing so. I purchased a box of wood for marquee work but I have not taken the time to give it a try. Perhaps I will get some enthusiasm to give it a try. I hope you find our web sight to be a fun and informative place to hang out. Dick heppnerguy
  22. Cute little critters they are Dick heppnerguy
  23. Red is perfect for this piece for sure. Looks great. I would have been afraid to even attempt taking off a backer board already in place on this. My wood working knowledge is so limited. You did a great job with your piece. It should be well liked and probably displayed in a place of prominence Dick heppnerguy
  24. I was using Titebond 2 on all my projects and I kept running across places where a few drops of that along with a few drops of super glue was a suggested way to go. I also read about using accelerator spray along with the super glue. So I bought it and found the super glue along with the accelerator set an instant bond and I really liked that, so I started using that formula exclusively without any wood glue. Boy was that a mistake. At first it seemed like a great idea, especially when I was putting my Eiffel Tower together because it was so difficult to figure out how to clamp it due to the delicacy and strange angles on the tower. Hey and no wood glue to ease out and watch for. About 18 months after I had assembled my tower, I went in and picked it up to show someone and it was almost like it had no glue at all. It was suddenly in Three pieces. Apparently the super glue dried up and no longer held it together. Long story short, I had t recluse a lot of it. I was so taken with the super glue before this happened that it was about all I was using for a period of time. I thought it a great idea to put my hangers on using only the super glue because I did not need to worry about any hanger nails penetrating my thinner backer boards a ruining my pieces. A couple of heavier pieces fell off our walls as the super glue gave way. Lesson learned. I asked some of the people that purchased thingsfrom me, if they had experienced any problems with anything they had bought from me, So far everything is ok. Dick Heppnerguy
  25. We came to an agreement where I will do the cutting and she will do the finishing. Her ideas differ from mine as she wants to colorized everything but I asked her to do at least half of them with only a black backer board because I really don't want to have people asking me t colorized what I do. Takes more time and I try to keep my prices reasonable. Dick Heppnerguy
