  3. Great sight, thanks for passing this along. I will use the info for sure. Dick heppnerguy
  4. I bought me a tube of synthetic grease at Napa today and my saw comes apart first of the year for a thorough cleaning and grease job. Dick heppnerguy
  5. Paul, I can't for the life of me, see why you would want to cut this pattern, what attracted you to it? Just teasing you, this is another example of 'the spiral blade king' in action. A wonderful piece indeed. You never cease to amaze me. Dick heppnerguy
  6. Marg, Nice twist on the ornaments and very timely right now with the Star Wars movie doing so well. Dick heppnerguy
  7. Luis, I am overwhelmed by all your work. I guess it is time for me to stop whining about the little bit I do, being too much.. very Ambitious. Dick heppnerguy

  10. I learned something new again, although I have used most of the tips and didn't even understand that I could be solving a problem for others as I adapt an idea to my pieces. I love the ideas that come up here and the questions too. they do serve as a help for others as well Dick heppnerguy
  11. Paul, There goes another spiral blade super cut. . I can't wait to get to your house and watch you in action at your saw.. You are truly a master with the spiral. I am not sure if I am teachable, but if so, I may turn more to my spiral blades too Dick heppnerguy

  13. Never know what is going to take off and what will flop until you give it a try. This one worked well for you, Gordie. Very nice. Dick heppnerguy
  14. http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/hvo/5299991353.html I found this one in Vegas.. worth checking out.. These are good saws...try it out and make sure it has a non tool blade change, ( you can buy an adapter for them at $25 i think it is.. Dick heppnerguy http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/tls/5336037772.html Here is a good one too. I would ask on this one about the speeds. .It might be a 3 speed pulley driven, the first one is varible speed with a twist of a knob.. much more practical, in my oppinion here is a DeWalt in Flagstaff, I don't know how far that is from Vegas but it looks like you could get it for under $200 http://flagstaff.craigslist.org/tls/5260346409.html
  15. I just bought one on Ebay for $365. It was new in the box. Had never been taken out of the box, but was returned to the store because it 'had no table'. I purchased it because my other DeWalt 788 finally wore out after more than 10 years of steady long use. When I got the saw, and pulled it from the box, the top was in the bottom of the box. no one had taken the saw from the box so they never saw the table that is packed in it. Everything was still in it's original plastic covering. I saved a little on that saw. I love th DeWalt because I have been using it for so long and I am very comfortable with it. I also have a RBI that I rarely use but the cost of that one is $1200 to $1400. I got this one at an estate sale and could not pass it up. I scored on that one for only $65, not a typo. It pays to look around some times. Craigslist can change day to day. Dick heppnerguy
  16. I have to say, he is beautiful. so sorry that you are ill at this precious time in your life, but God will have to together soon, It must be very difficult to have to be looking at him and not being able to be with him . At least you know that he is well loved, you can tell by the photos. CONGRATULATIONS I am sure it will be a blessed introduction and the start of a great loving relationship. Hope to see you do a wooden portrait of him before too long. Your son obviously loves being a daddy. He looks so proud. Dick heppnerguy Get well, Grandpa.
  17. I use both the ring and the chain.. I used the key chains as a way of marking Christmas presents and each received a keychain with their name on it too.. was a fun way to use them, I thought Dick heppnerguy
  18. I agree. I think one could cut a piece and pyro it for additional interest. A lot of patterns would work well for that, I believe. Some like to paint or stain their pieces to make them stand out better, why not pyro them too? Hey, come to think of it, I have Pyroed quite a few of the things I have cut. It helps keep my shop warm too. Dick heppnerguy
  19. I like both of the pieces. You always have things that I enjoy seeing. Glad you stay busy and take the time to post your work Dick heppnerguy
  20. nicely done. I too have made some compound ornaments but found that I was not too fond of cutting them, even though they did come out alright. Maybe I need to give it another try. Yours are very delightful, for sure. Thank you for posting your work and inspiring me Dick heppnerguy

  22. welcome to The Village, Glad your wife purchased you a scroll saw. Be careful though because it gets very addicting quickly. Hey, I have an Idea for you Kevin, go give your wife a kiss now and tell you you will be in the shop, on your scroll saw, probably making her more things, and warn her that she may not see you for awhile and be sure and tell her, you love her. Have fun with your new saw and log on often, (if you can get away from your saw, long enough to be on the computer). I promise you that you will be glad you did. check out everything you can find in The Village because there are many things that you will find both helpful and interesting for YOU Dick heppnerguy
  23. Oh you are right, LarryEA , I made it up just for you .....I think my "T" key wasn't working yesterday.. I see it is now..... Dick heppnerguy
  24. Stoney, you just raddled my chain. I like the idea of Corian for a trivet but I have never cut it before.. What kind of blade do you use to cut Corian and where can one purchase some for that purpose? Dick heppnerguy
  25. blades blades blades.. without blades a scroller is worse off than without a saw.. Is that your saw I hear humming in the background, or did I forget to turn mine off when I left the shop? Oh, never mind, it is Kevin's saw running..but it sounds like it is growling or something...oh, I bet Kevin fell asleep at his saw again and he is snoring..that must account for the growling sound Dick heppnerguy
