  1. a great pattern and cutting. Thanks once more for producing a top notch piece Dick heppnerguy
  2. I want to add my two cents too.. Welcome to The Village. I like to stress that logging on as often as possibly, many do one or more a day. This is the way we get to know each other> Sherry, you have stumbled into one of the best families on the planet and we all want you to feel that family tie. the most you log on and post the faster you will know you are part of this family. For us it is all about sharing our skills and see others works, posting our projects and learning from one another, we also really like to just have fun with one another. This site should be named Friendly Village. Explore everything you can find here and enjoy yourself. We are looking forward to seeing what you make too. Dick heppnerguy
  3. A big welcome from me too. I am glad you have found us. I hope you realize that logging onto the Village is a very important thing for you to do, as this will get you acquainted with all the regulars and then eventually those who have become, not one of the regulars but they still are part of our big world wide family. I hope to get to know you as a regular too. The people here are extremely fun to hang out with and have assorted talents and skill levels. You can rest assured that you will never be put down here, just encouraged. Dick heppnerguy
  4. probably out of the league for most of us. I thought spending $449 my saw was going way over the top for a person like myself on SS. Not disappointed though. You don't need a Viper to get from Heppner to Portland, so I drive my Nisson Dick heppnerguy
  5. I have an overhead florescent light over my bench and I have no need for any other light and it is always out of the way too Dick heppnerguy
  6. I thought that looked like you , but i went by so quickly, I wasn't really sure Dick heppnerguy
  7. Sheila and Keith designed this pattern just for you ? I did not know they would even do that. They are really nice people to talk with on the phone, that is for sure. I love the sign. He will have to like this one, that is for sure Dick heppnerguy
  8. I have both saws and I like both of them, I believe the Hawk to be a better saw. If the price were the same I would take the Hawk. The Hawk new is $1400 or more depending on the which model it is. Parts seem to not be a problem for either saw, at least that is what I have come up with so far. You can not go wrong with either one of them, unless there is some major problem within them. Let us know what you decided on. Dick heppnerguy
  9. Thank you everyone for the nice comments. It is a great car to look at in real life, at least I think so. I like this guys patterns and this one is a free one. Dick heppnerguy
  10. Here is a Dodge Viper I scrolled for one of my grandkids. He loves cars like this so I decided he might like this one. It was a little more difficult than I thought it would be,but I am happy with the finished product so i think he will be too Dick heppnerguy
  11. A really swell thing to do for these great kids, especially at this busy time of the year. A good idea. I hope others pick up on the idea. Dick heppnerguy
  12. 50th anniversary's are so special. and your cutting will make it even better. Not many people today seem to put their marriages in such an important place and there are many divorces. When someone makes it this far it is because they worked at it. through all the hard times they have made the decision to continue to love one another and work things out, instead of throwing in the towel. God bless this couple. Your plaque will be the most cherished gift they will receive, I bet. Their kids will also cherish it long after they have parted from this Earth, of that I am pretty sure too. Nicely done tribute. Dick' heppnerguy
  13. I am not a spiral fan, myself but I used it today on something I am making and found i was able to achieve what I was after wit it better and easier than I have in previous encounters with it. I just MIGHT consider giving them another chance, down the road. Dick heppnerguy
  14. wow , Paul. Very impressive. Hans, it looks like you have some competition here with Paul. But then I know you are always glad to see such a piece by anyone but excellence is what you enjoy so much. Dick heppnerguy
  15. Great idea. Give of yourself and the winner is who you donate to and to yourself. I donate to every good cause I come across that I think could use my help. It is always appreciated and it warms my heart at the same time Dick heppnerguy
  16. nice job... stay with it and you will be opening a gift store before you know it Dick heppnerguy
  17. No fair. It looks like the dog is telling you where to put each ring..that is a great and challenging game. and you did a marvelous job making it. looks like hours of returning fun Dick heppnerguy
  18. I like the font over the piece or the 'ad the camel' or something like that, idea.. that would give it a 3D affect. Or you could take out the screws and countersink the holes and replace the screws and then ad a wood plug and paint it..or just cut it over again and change the cloth backing with a wooden one and glue it Dick heppnerguy
  19. If you would like to dress it up with the smallest amount of expense and yet enhance it, try this one. lay your sign on a board 1/2 inch thick, but about an inch or so overlapping each side. take a 1/4 inch metal washer and place it against one of the outside walls of your sign. take a pencil and put the point in the circle of the washer and keeping the washer tight against the sign, draw a line with the pencil, completely circling the sign. (be sure you hold your sign down firmly against the board you are drawing on ) then cut out the backerboard on the lines you just drew and paint the sign whatever color you choose with quick drying spray paint. When the paint is dry, glue your sign to the backer board you just made and put a hanger on the back. It will really set off your sign, make the words stand out more clearly and the cost is minimal. There is one idea for you Dick heppnerguy
  20. a very ambitious group of cuttings. You must love to challenge yourself. You work is outstanding. Thanks for posting them for all of us to admire Dick heppnerguy
  21. That is exactly how I feel about scrolling.. I do not want to make a job out of it as I know I would end up feeling like you do about stained glass. My enjoyment is worth way more than money Dick heppnerguy
  22. I like what you were able to do with the bowl, making a specialized item out of it. Looks great and will be appreciated for some time to come. I don't see it as much different from scrolling a piece and putting it into a purchased frame..A difficult project to cut but problem solved and a great present for someone Dick heppnerguy
  23. WOW ! Very nice pieces.I love your designs and the great execution on cutting them all. IMPRESSIVE INDEED Dick heppnerguy
