  2. perfect and original. I bet now that you have it done you are very glad you said , "yes". Darn nice Dick heppnerguy
  3. Fay, so glad you could swing this purchase. Some times it is hard to justify making a big purchase of something just for yourself, But I think you will never reqret that you did. Have fun with it. Anxious to hear more about it in the near future. Dick heppnerguy
  4. You people have too much imagination for me. It seems like I can not think of anything on my own. that is why I am so thankful of the ones that do make and share their patterns. That way i can have fun with what would otherwise not be used Dick heppnerguy
  5. good work on your hummingbird. and I too want to congratulate both of you on a nice long run. My wife and I are only a couple of years behind you. I am sure there were a couple of bumps along the way but they are all in the past and the committment prevailed over everything. Isn't it wonderful to have someone to be together with for so long and share the wonderful memories you have together Dick heppnerguy
  6. I would love to cut this one too. It is a very attractive piece. Thanks, Steve I will be waiting and hoping that you can find it and post it. Dick heppnerguy
  7. want some critisms ? Can't come up with any. Beautifully done.. I, personally, like it a lot . Thanks for sharing Dick heppnerguy
  8. Fay, What kind of saw do you need brushes for ?Maybe I can help you find some, if you like. Dick heppnerguy
  9. I love those frames. I stumbled onto plans for them about 3 or 4 years ago. I have my inlaws photos in them. The photos were taken in the 40's so the frames really set them off. Nice work on your items. Love them Dick heppnerguy
  10. A very ambitious and beautiful clock. It must be a really rewarding thing when someone comes into your house and you can tell them that YOU made it. I am anxious to see some of your other work too. Glad to see that you are coming here often and that you are posting. Dick heppnerguy
  11. looks like it is coming along just great. Keep up the good work, Carl. I just gave away a large hummingbird intarsia piece to a friend of mine in Alabama. It is one of the most rquested items I make. I guess youa d your wife are not alone in you fascination with hummingbirds. Dick heppnerguy
  12. As for myself, I love doing something a second, third or more times because that says to me, that others are admireing my work, which makes it all good for me. And besides, once some one has something of mine in their home that means more people will get to know about me and more will be possible customers and that is what pays for my supplies so that I can continue to make sawdust and nothave to worry about my budget. That is a really nice corner piece. It is perfect for the display statue you have in it. Is this a pattern that you can share or even willing to share ? You did na great job on it , Thanks for sharing it Dick heppnerguy
  13. I was going to get off my computer and hit the shop. But I decided to look at one more thing. It was this one that was to be my last one to look at. I am so glad that I did, as I would lot have wanted to miss this one.. Very nicely done. I terrific piece Dick heppnerguy
  14. What a wonder item to have of your newborn. Perfect Dick heppnerguy
  15. Roly, You night go to a flooring store and buy a box of oak flooring. You get a lot for not a lot of money. I use these for many things too. Only problem is you are limited to the heighth size unless you are good at joining them. Dick heppnerguy
  16. It is a fun project there. I cut one and put it on my sight and sold it the very next day. Dick heppnerguy
  17. Hans, Once more you take on the challenges that so many of us do not want to tackle, only wish we would, and come out with another fantastic piece. Stop challenging me.. I might give in Dick heppnerguy
  18. Nice job. It feels good when someone likes your work well enough to purchase it. I sell just enough to take care of my cutting desires. blades, saws, glue, shipping, tape, you know all the things we need. Dick heppnerguy
  19. Truly a perfect piece for your friend. I know he will cherish this for the rest of his life. Dick heppnerguy
  20. if you don't absolutely need to, DON'T USE THIS KNOB. I firmly believe you are causing your own problems here. You will be continually replaceing those stripped threads that you do not have to do if you jus tuse the other suggestions above. (and I thought you learned from your previous mistake with these ad on knobs) you are a lot like me, I guess. I am a little set in my ways Dick heppnerguy
  21. if you search on line, you should be able to find a 788 with free shipping at a good discount. That is how I got mine and I was able to get it for about 1/2 of what the regular price was. Good Luck, you can also go on and order your brushes and you could put them in yourself. Not that hard. If you were able to look at them, you are able to replace them too. But if you can afford a new 788 it sounds like you probably would be doing that anyway, then go for it. Dick heppnerguy
  22. Darcy, I went and took a look at this soght. i really like it and I know i will use it. I enjoyed the step by step proceedures that i saw. This is very helpful to a gu with my lack of skills. I will bookmard this sight. Thanks again for sharing it with us Dick heppnerguy
  23. I like that dog house you posted. Our dog is an inside dog so we do not need a dog house for her, but I am going to check out this sight because I NEED plans to build something as I am not good at figureing out how to build something on my own. Thanks, Darcy for sharing this with us. Dick heppnerguy
  24. Teh DeWalt 788 has a much smaller opening but I too have made a zero clearance table one time, for some really delicate cutting i was doing. I have found it was really not needed for my saw so I no longer use it. With the opening that your saw has, I can see a real need to do what you have done. Good work, At one time, i thought about using my zero clearance insert just to raise the portion of the blade I was cutting with, giving me a 'new' blade surface to use and doubling the life of my blades. I later found the blade prices to be reasonable enough that I abanded that idea too. Dick heppnerguy
